yup. best thing about Bond films is they look amazing in the theater vs home. I remember seeing Skyfall in the theater and was in awe of the scenery of the opening scene.

Just hearing those first few notes of the Bond song in theater stereo as the prologue begins is enough to get me semi

tomorrow never dies is vastly underrated.

the world is not enough had potential, but a rising star in denise richards never fit.

Die Another Day had decent stuff but was ultimately shit.

I think 'blood' was deemed as cancelled by the woke culture a few years ago. Probably that's why.

I wondered what was missing.

I don't think I've ever seen a bond movie. What should I start with?

Also a good option.

Spaulding...you can't go wrong with one of the Connery ones as your starting point. But definitely one of the 2 mentioned here, or You Only Live Twice.

Thunderball is good, but has moments that drag a little. Dr No doesn't suck, but it's not really classic Bond that everyone knows and loves.

 Dr. No was one I didn't see for years. It was pretty spotty. And you're right about Thunderball.

Thunderball might be my favorite of the Connery movies if it were only about 20 minutes shorter.

From Russia with Love is still my favorite for how bad ass Robert Shaw was in it.

Hard to beat Bond's initial introduction in Dr. No. But, I agree the movie is not strong.

To say Thunderball drags "a little bit" is an incredible understatement. It's almost unwatchable at times.

I prefer Goldfinger to Russia but you can't go wrong with either. Cool to see an original Kentucky Fried Chicken in Goldfinger if you can get past the rape-iness.

Diamonds Are Forever is pretty good and cool to see old school early '70 Las Vegas.

LIve and Let Die is probably the best of the Moore's. The Spy Who Loved Me is a rare Moore movie that tries to tap into the less fantastical and more like the Connery movies.

I always liked the ridiculousness of Moonraker as a kid.

Didn't care much for the Daltons. Didn't catch me at the right time of my life and the change in tone from Moore that I'd grown up with threw me off.

Goldeneye is the best Brosnan. The rest are not good. Die Another Day is probably the worst Bond movie ever.

Casino Royale is probably the best Bond movie ever made.

If you start with the movies in the 60s/70s you got to remember it was a different time socially. Rape was acceptable back then so it my be offensive to someone living in 2021.

For example, read this from the current Bond Movie director :

https://www.insider.com/james-bond-basi ... aga-2021-9

I would say start w/ the new one coming out.

If you liked Austin Powers, you should probably watch You Only Live Twice.

You get to see Sean Connery impersonate an Asian person.

You must become a Japanese. The bath scene alone is worth it.

From Russia with Love then Spy Who Loved Me.

Then play a shitload of Dame Shirley Bassey on Spotify. The quintessential Bond singer, as opposed to all this modern shit.

I typed in dame to google to see what exactly it means to be a dame and how you get that title. First result is a a sex toy site. It features an O face bucket hat with their eroticon.

Judi Dench will not be pleased with your search.

Or maybe she will.

Dame is like Sir. But not the Laurence Holmes Sir.

Some non-Bond Shirley Bassey, recorded when she was a sprightly 62 years old.

I’ll forever be amazed at how people spend their time.

Now, commenting on a message board is not exactly the Lord’s work, but spending hours developing digital sex emojis seems like a wasted talent.
