I turned off Ep 1. I'm waiting to hear if this is a setup for something intriguing or it's just a suckfest all the way through.

Good lord people have some patience.

Wanda is obviously being manipulated.

All these characters are scared to death of something, or someone(s).

Also, a character (or characters) we’ve seen before will appear.

Maybe from a different universe.

The last few episodes are where the bulk of the $150 million was spent.

I tried watching this and could only stomach 12 minutes or so, absolutely terrible. Canned laughter and black n white, cheezy ass punch lines.. Id rather stick my ball bag in a meat grinder. Whoever green lit this awful POS needs to banned from hollywood.

Good is too strong.

It's fine. Fine is the best you could say.

So far I like it. I think we are so used to streaming services dropping the whole season at the same time that we've forgotten what it is like to actually have to wait for a story to build.

It could be a disaster though.

Is this a comedy? What is the premise- that superheroes sometimes marry each other and move to Levittown and could be your nextdoor neighbors?

It's making fun of the old timey sitcoms along those lines but it's mostly a mystery on why these two incredibly powerful superheroes are locked in this prison manifesting itself as a tv show.

The closest comparison through 3 episodes is The Truman Show.

The show takes place immediately after Endgame. Everything is likely a construct in Wanda's mind, while under an induced sleep state. That's my guess, at least.

She wasn't as annoying as she normally is.

Also seemed like her boobs were diminished.

Episode was fun and yes lots of plot.

Notice they switch the aspect ratio when they go from “reality” to Wandavision.

No, that was just the setup.

Well, episode 5 was another head scratcher. And Wanda has her accent back.

Sounds like how Larry Sanders would shift from videotape to film.

This is pretty great through 5 episodes. The first 3 episodes were a slow burn but I think it was worth it.

Are you sure? I couldn't even get through E1. I had heard it was an homage to Dick Van Dyke. If it was, it was a total failure. It was more of a unfunny mockery. I guess my question is, do these 3 episodes have a point, or is it just an artsy failure?

Yes. They have a point. Did you really think Disney spent $150 million dollars to do a tribute to Dick Van Dyke?

Treat it like a movie. The 1/3 of the movie is setting up things for the final 2/3. It picks up significantly in episode 4.

Of course it's possible. I have Netflix...and The Shape of Water won an Academy Award. The amount of expensive garbage out there is astounding.

Ok. They didn't make it as a tribute to Dick Van Dyke. They are using the concept of sitcoms through the decades as a way to tell a larger story in the current day.

OK. I'll slog through. I did kinda learn my lesson with the last season of True Detective. I still don't quite know why setups have to be a slog. Somehow the producers of Fargo and many others never had that problem.
