Who are you to say a black actor is "handed" a role of power like a police officer of whatever? Is it that ridiculous for you to believe that they could possibly have earned it? Nothing wrong with that except it is usually done for the wrong reasons. That is what I'm saying. It's the Hollywood mogul not giving a black actor a major starring role so they give them the smaller role of an authority figure. That is what I'm trying to say. If that makes me a racist to you, I don't know what I could do to change that.

I have all the respect in the world for Dave Chappelle. He walked away from millions of dollars for peace of mind. There aren't a lot of Hollywood types with his integrity.

The point is to assume that something is just "given to" or "handed out" is ridiculous. You don;t know if that's true. This isn't the first time you've said something like that either.

Believe me, it isn't unique to you. I've heard it before. A lot. There are people who have no problem assuming that one is jsut "given" something they don't deserve based on their race.

first of all, i just want to say...i am sick to death of clicking on a youtube video and having to watch a fucking advertisement first. jesus that's annoying...and far more prevalent now than it's ever been.

it's fair to say that denzel got a little comfortable in the past 10 years or so in his acting role choices. a lot of actors do that after their prime. i think after you've done the great work, you kinda cash in...it's the nature of the beast. tom hanks has done it, too. you wear yourself out.

however...that is not the case here. this project looks like a real shot at redemption for zemekis and a great role for denzel to prove (for the nth time) how great of an actor he is.

i think his most underrated work is his directorial and acting work in "antwone fisher", which in itself was an underrated movie. fantastically paced, great character development, and utterly emotional. it's a shame it doesn't get mentioned more.

denzel's been great since "cry freedom" and "the mighty quinn", mississippi masala", and "glory".

pasta was dead on about the industry, and if it wasn't him saying it, i don't think he would've caught flack.

I agree...if he hadn't said it he wouldn't have caught flack.

i was using the general "he". meaning that a woman wouldn't have said something so careless.

Would love to see the people at Trailer Cats do this with the Star Fox crew...
