I have not kept up with the Spiderman series. I think I saw one of the first ones, but just haven't watched any others. My daughters wanted me to go with them last night to watch this one. I didn't really want to since I have not watched the majority of them. But I have to say I really enjoyed it and I am glad I went. I am going to go back and watch come of the other movies that I missed.

That’s really cool.

Yeah SYFY channel was playing Spider Man 2 on Xmas eve, and we watched a good 30 minutes of it.

Still one of my favorite comic book movies even if the cgi 17 years ago wasn’t that great.

I wish we would have rewatched a couple of the older Spider Man films from Tobey and Andrew before going to see this movie last week.

People letting the movie theaters survive. We were so close to day one home releases forever and people couldn't stay away.

This is a fun movie. Feels a bit too long in parts, but it's very fun. The old guys really steal the show. William Dafoe is great.

Well, don't get crazy. The first 2 Maguire ones were good.

And I liked the first Garfield one more than others did I think. But, the others won't really add to your overall experience.

You’re right Doc.

The 3rd Raimi film was not good.

Raimi wanted to use Vulture and Sandman as his villains if I’m remembering correctly, but the studio forced Venom on him.

ASM2 wasn’t good, but I don’t hate it like MANY do.

Thanks for the advice, so what ones should i make a priority to watch?

Those three. In that order. They get progressively worse but they are the best three.

They really need to get back to the 90s Spiderman cartoon stuff. Sinister 6, Blade/Punisher/DD, and Venom kind of stuff. I feel like they kinda dropped the ball on the Vulture/Scorpion stuff by going over seas in the 2nd one, and kind of went backwards with this last one.

I went to the movies yesterday. I enjoyed this film, although merging the characters into a single movie, I realized I hadn't seen 3/4 of the bad guys and no Andrew Garfield interpretations of the hero. It didn't diminish the movie for me as I used to watch the cartoons in my youth, so I knew all the characters.

I have noticed in the past few Marvel movies I have seen, they spend far too much time on the closing mourning scenes. This one could have clipped 15+ minutes.

I also found their understanding of the multi verse and the concluding spell to be incoherent. I understand how they had to compartmentalize this point in time for the movie but Strange was correct that he Peter doesn't really know what he is doing. He didn't save or cure anyone, as each survived or was even victorious in an infinite amount of timelines.

Dr. Strange 2 is going to further deal with the after effects of Spider Man No Way Home, Wandavision, and the Loki show.

All those properties deal with events in the multiverse.

A big event in Wandavision’s season finale actually coincides at the exact same time another big event happens in the Loki season finale that is multiverse related (And also happens at the exact same second in both episodes).

After DS2 the 3rd Ant Man movie “Quantumania” will also be heavily multiverse related.

We are really so deep into the MCU where missing a show or movie is going to set back your understanding of what is actually going on.

I do understand your critiques of both the loose explanation of the multiverse plot in NWH, and the last 15min.

I had no problem personally with the last 15min as it showed Peter taking a new path, but I do understand how some people could do without it.

My buddy who I went with the 2nd time I saw the film said he’s tired of all the comic book movies forcing love stories.

But I mean that’s always been a part of Spider man’s story.

I haven't watched any of Loki or Antman and almost no Wandavision. I'm comfortable with not keeping up. I'll just stick with a new Batman every decade.

I just don't like the coherence of Peter correcting time in MCU when they explained their understanding back in the last Avengers. His well intentioned actions hurt more than they help in the big picture. Also Aunt May's advice is infantile. It shouldn't be used as a guiding principal.

Yeah Peter was trying to be selfless, but ended up in a selfish situation that ultimately got Aunt May killed.

The movie succeeded in stripping away all the Stark tech and excess plot points from the first 2 films in order to get Peter Parker back to a more relatable and classic Spider Man moving forward.

I think the MCU continuity is passing a threshold for realism where we may have to just roll with the story if it makes even a shred of sense.

DC films has yet to reach this point as they reboot their franchises every 10 years like you said.

I finally watched this over the weekend after first rewatching every single Spidey movie ever made. All 3 Toby movies, both Garfield flicks, Civil War, both Tom Holland movies, both Avengers. So glad I did in preparation for this.

What an amazing movie for us Spidey fanboys. Loved every second, but I was disappointed we didn't get Kirsten Dunst or Emma Stone. Thought for sure we would get a scene with current MJ and old MJ.

Loved the Daredevil scene, but wish he would've been in it more.

really loved what they ddi with the two older Spider men. Loved how Tobey has been Spidey for ove 20 years and you can see it in his demeanor. Very serious/

really loved how Garfield was still obviously emotionally torn up over Gwen's death 10-15 years later. Hasn't dated anyone else. Had a great reaction when he saved MJ from falling at the end.

My ONLY complaint is the premise didn't really work for me. The idea that Mysterio could ruin Spidey's reputation less than a year after he just helped save the entire world from Thanos is ludicrous. That part didn't sit well with me.

And the ending is a little off putting the way Peter Parker was forgotten by everyone, but it does open up possibilities for a bunch of new movies if HOlland is willing to oblige.
