I hate Chloe, so I really hated last night's episode. I suspend disbelief for this show, but last night was ridiculous.

While the blonde chick being the CTU mole wasn't a complete surprise, I have to admit that I didn't see it coming, at least from the context of yesterday's one hour. Given her shady past, I figured more details would eventually come out. No clue it would involve being a terrorist, but still, not totally floored by the revelation.

The scene with her killing the parole office and conveniently finding a place to stash the body wasn't quite the straw that kills my interest in the show, but it was pretty freaking close.

Years ago, my idea for this show was to have each season be its own self-contained season, with no bearing on future seasons and no reliance on past ones, either. That way, you could kill Jack at some point if they wanted to, and bring him back the following year. By using this formula, you build on the actual suspense of predicaments that Jack finds himself and wonder if he'll actually make it out alive. Obviously, they didn't heed my advice (not that I sent it to the producers of the show) and now we're stuck with the same ol', same ol' and it's pretty stale at this point.

I love Chloe. But, last night's episode is really starting to take things into crazy-town.

ANOTHER MOLE IN CTU? Is that Step 1 in the Terrorist Playbook?

1. Get mole in the highest levels of US terrorism prevention.
2. Apply for credit card.
3. Buy rope.

Do they ever background check these people?

This season has been pretty bad which is disappointing considering last year's was excellent IMO.

I did love Chloe's line though - "I don't do praise well". Sorry Ed, she's great.

I don't advocate violence against women, but I do advocate woman on woman violence. Ergo, I would give anything to have Renee or the psycho blonde chick kick Chloe's ass.

What's so great about Chloe? Mary Lynn Rasjkub (sp?) was pretty funny on Mr. Show years ago, but her acting on 24 SUCKS. If she's there to be the comic foil, at least give her something funny to say/do. Every time she cringes or rolls her eyes or says something sarcastic, I wish someone would punch her in the face.

In two weeks, I'm going to have routine Monday evening commitments until July(& no dvr). With episodes like last night's, I won't be missing anything.

I'm not familiar with her pre-24 work. The first year or so I couldn't wait until they killed her off.

But, I've grown to appreciate her unflinching surliness. They avoided the typical, predictable storyline where she becomes all nice and pleasant and likeable.

Ditto. Her character remains unpredictable which is one of the few saving graces of this season.

Last night's episode was bad.

Was anyone else surprised with how quickly they killed that one agent off? They kept giving him a lot of random camera time for like 4 or 5 episodes now leading you to believe that he's going to do end up being an important cog in story and then they have him basically suicide himself.

Good call. The way they semi-focused on that guy in earlier episodes led me to believe he could actually be a mole, too. It was strange that he stood out but was basically a nobody.

And you and the good Dr. are both crazy with the Chloe love, but I shan't comment on it again! We shall agree to disagree. :)

Count me in that list .... I was trying to figure out if he had a bigger role in all of this in a shitty rambling post earlier. Oh well.

Really enjoyed tonight episodes. I finally got that feeling back that the show used to give and thought the two hours absolutely flew by.

Agreed.

This was probably the best episodes of the season, and it was nice that last night was a two-parter. I'll be interested to see what the old president does when they bring him back. I was always a fan of his character.

On the whole, I enjoyed last night's episode and I was surprised that Jack found him as he did at the end. I didn't think that would be the outcome.

BUT, I still couldn't get past how that car could just drive away from the parking garage. It only had 2 exits and they didn't cover the other one? I guess nobody had responded yet but, according to the ambush plan they had people at every intersection on that street and they couldn't sweep in and cover that parking garage as soon as they saw him pull in there? They've really been pushing the "luck" or suspension of disbelief this season.

Yeah, that really pissed me off to.

The area was crawling with CTU agents, that car should not have gotten away.

For as good as last weeks episodes were, this week was 10x as bad. Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting tired of the Jack can never be happy angle and we must kill anyone he is ever close to. I understand they were trying to be shocking, but there is no reason to kill her off. What would have been shocking is that she actually lived and Jack smiles once every 4 or 5 episodes.

Dumb. I got very sick of this show in a hurry last night

It's not just you. I was thinking the same thing.

Jack should just kill himself. His life sucks.

THAT would be the way to end the series....Jack shooting himself.

Seriously, everybody he's ever cared about has either been killed or turned traitor. He's got to think it's just a matter of time before they get to the daughter and Chloe. He's the one that keeps bringing these bad people into their lives.

He should just end it.

The only logical conclusion to this season now will be Jack killing himself when he accidentally discovers his daughter participating in a wet t shirt contest.

So, I started watching this show in December and plowed through the entire series and I'm now caught up. Here are my thoughts:

-The first season was the best.
-The season with Jack vs. his dad was the worst.
-Freddie Prinze Jr. couldn't act is way out of a wet paper bag.
-More Kim Bauer.
-I remember watching this early on and checking IMDB to see who logged the most episodes, and was surprised to see Chloe as second to Jack. "Her?" But, she has grown on me.
-I think some of the best moments on this show occured when Aaron Pierce was involved. Probably my favorite non-Jack or David Palmer character.
-However, one of the worst moments occured when he was involved, as well. The worst story arc was probably when the crazy ex first lady stabbed president Logan in the neck. He didn't die? And, why was that necessary?
-They shouldn't have killed off Edgar so quickly.
-I'm glad that Jack got to bang Renee before she died. He earned that one.
-Worst Villain was probably Dennis Hopper in the first season trying to rock the Russian accent.
-Worst decision by Jack? Audrey over Mrs. Coach from Friday Night Lights.

A few other thoughts:
-I think that CTU just uses google for their background checks.
-Wayne Palmer for president was a reach...
-...but Allison Taylor is more of a reach. Half the time she seems clueless. I'm glad that her husband divorced her once he found out she was a lesbian.
-I want bad things to happen to Charles Logan. Why did they have to bring him back? Ugh.

Pierce is definitely MY GUY!. Great character. I was also a fan of Curtis, but they killed him off really stupidly as well.

Couldn't disagree more. She's great until she opens her mouth. She's the one person close to Jack I've been hoping get taken out by a stray bullet or 10

More Kim Bauer from five years ago, not today. The years have not been kind.

The other way it could end would be for him to just go back to oblivion and go back to the Friday Night Lights lady, and go back to working on the oil rigs or whatever the fuck he was doing.

Producers screwed themselves when they refused to kill Jack off over the last 18 months or so. Tony could have carried the show and I'm sure someone else could have taken over for Tony if that wasn't going well. At points I even thought Renee could take over for Jack. In the end the show just could not top itself because it became too predictable... Jack gets stab, takes a bullet, loses many loved ones, travels to 5 locations, has time for a love interest, takes multiple phone calls from the President all in 24 hours. Its just become stupid.

Kill Jack off. Keep the 1 hour in real time concept but spread the time line of the show over 2 weeks to a month and 24 becomes watchable again.

Oh yeah do more split screens of things happening in real time.
