He also appears unable to arrive at a reliable definition of "decent."

Shouldn't you be wasting time making fun of UConn fans?

Don't get the rampant love for this already. Only two episodes have aired for fuck's sake. It's been okay. Not a bad show but nothing really inneresting or exciting yet. I still wonder if Odenkirk, or rather his character, can carry this. Mike was funny. Fat Tuco was weird and anachronistic.

Episode 3 was great tonight. Odenkirk is going to win awards for this show.

the kettlemans seem like a holderness family parody. the actress who played the wife of the dead cop is in familiar territory here and plays the doting mom/wife pretty well.

it's a nice, quirky show so far.

Did you see something that helped you determine pre 2002 Panther?

I was just thinking about it. Saul meets Walt in 08-09. So I just guessed it had to be at least a handful of years before that.

i love how a lot of people bitched about the presence of a fat tuco in this show. it's not like the guy was doing TIIIIIGHT meth or anything at least casually related to weight loss during his all-too-brief time in breaking bad.

bob odenkirk's doing great with this role. you really want to pull for jimmy/saul as he's dealing with all of his bullshit. i think he genuinely means well but is becoming more and more hardened to the real world. i think that's the transformation we'll see here, as they started the series with him indeed managing at the cinnabon in omaha to show that unlike walter there's a point where he's willing to tap out and say enough and try to live an "honest" life. i think that flashforward was meant to set up the morality of the show, which is a nice move as we're watching jimmy start to get deeper and deeper in the shit and if he's not up to his shoulders by the end of the season (already renewed) then i'll be severely disappointed.

That's no fun. I thought they'd reveal it on the show.

Thanks though

Always look at the cars.

Walter White drove a 2004 Aztek.

Right, that's why I was thinking it could be a slow reveal. Since Saul's car is not new or close to it.

It's May 2002.

The three knuckleheads he's defending in the pilot decapitated the corpse on the video which had a date stamp of October 2001. The $700 check he got for defending all 3 is dated May 12, 2002. He slams the check up on the glass in protest and the date is up on the screen for a good 5 seconds.

Thought last night's episode was the best one so far.

dude you gotta learn how to properly read a WZ post. The key is to skip the text and go right to the bottom for the rating.

That's what Slippin' Jimmy was in jail for at the beginning of the episode.

Watched the first 2 episodes online at AMC.

Went to watch episode 3 and it said I had to sign in via my cable provider :|

Really enjoyed the first 2, and I am hoping to see the 3rd before Monday night.

So far this is a good episode, but it seems to be re-visiting exactly the same thematic terrain that Breaking Bad engaged--the declining economic prospects of White America, and the need to turn to "illegitimate" commerce to compensate for the lack of economic opportunity. There doesn't seem to be anything fresh, new or exciting here. That said, the show is deftly written, funny, and well acted, so I'll keep watching for now.

I've heard that the show hits its stride particularly in episodes 6 and 9, which are reported to be dark, well-crafted hours of television.

This show is great. Every episode is better than the previous one. I never ever imagined that a show starring Saul could be this great.

It's-all-good-man = Saul Goodman. Just brilliant.

I thought that was a great episode top to bottom.

Funny, interesting, and very weird at the end. Good stuff.
