Disagree on both these points. They really fucked up the final name scene with Arya and Jaquen. In the book, she uses the tactic to help break some prisoners out as well as escape....AND she helps out with the plan by bringing the weasel soup to Jaquen, Biter and Rorgue. SO last night they basically butchered a chance to show what a badass Arya is becoming.

SPOILER:

As for Qarth, in the book it made no sense why she did what she did at the temple of the undying, now she has been given motivation thanks to what has happened on the show. I was confused by the book, but it's going to make a lot more sense when it happens next week on the show.

I have to agree. I was really let down by that scene. I felt it should have been much more "epic". In some ways, the TV show is making Arya an awesome character - her interactions with Tywin - but, in others, they are totally taking away her bad-assess-ness as you say.

It wouldn't surprise me if Arya's story is moved along faster than in the books. I would imagine before the end of season 3 she'll be in the house of black and white already.

Good episode tonight. The actual battle scenes could have been improved a bit, but overall there were some memorable moments. Sad to see Tyrion gone.
