May be time to re-rank the "Star Trek" films again?

If this one does suck the root...we can only hope it's because it's an odd numbered sequel (even numbered have historically been the better ones with a few exceptions), and the 13th (bad luck), and the 14th will redeem the franchise.

Let's boldly go with that prediction.

If I try not to think of them as Star Trek movies, they're OK.

I actually quite liked the first one. The second...not so much.

This looks like an "edge of your seat thrill ride!" ...which was always what I love about Star Trek.

What didn't you like about the second one? I thought it was decent, not great. But I liked it and watch it occasionally. Benedict Cumberbatch was pretty convincing.

I will say, I hate trailers like this one. "Get ready! You'll be on the edge of your seat! Stuff is going to happen! Its going to be really cool! Check this chick with a white face out! And then Spock vanishes with high hilarity!"

The director of the new Trek is Justin Linn.

He directed Charlie's Angels and a Fast & furious movie.

He is known for exaggerated stunts and action with little "meat & bones" story.

I LOVE Star Trek, but they really have dropped the ball with all of these movies, and I have a feeling, this is gonna flop. I will still watch it and love it.

the next trailer should feature the music of limp bizkit.

Saw the new trailer (the first one was atrocious imho), and I have a little more hope for this now. Will probably see regardless.
