Premise for the show is too dumb for me to give it a try.

She'd have a 11.47 ERA after 3 starts in real life and her career would be over.

Well this probably won't change your mind but she makes it on a trick pitch (screwball) and she's not some Strasburg type prospect. 5 years in minors.

So they are trying to make it believable

The US Woman's team best pitcher throws 82, I'm sure eventually some Brittany Griner type freak will come along and throw 90+

Read the AV Club review of the pilot.

While I appreciate the effort the people behind this show have gone to in order to turn my childhood daydreams into a TV show (they even cast Zack Morris!), she should be a shortstop for the White Sox, not a pitcher for the Padres. I’ll try to forgive this misstep, since they did show a winning White Sox box score at one point, which is how I knew this was a fictional world (sad trombone).
