A musical? Fuck that shit. Way to ruin a perfectly good story that needed no amendment.

It was a cavalcade of over emotive child actors, one more hateable than the last. Ralphie? You suck! Randy? Fuck off, talentless! Finally we got the cherry on top as the detestable little girl whom I hated from the Lexus Christmas commercial appears in the "adorable" children's cast. It looked like a group of kids whose parents reminded them just before opening curtain that this was their big break and the family's future depended on it.

Also, I don't know how Matthew Broderick is pulling off the straight guy in a gay industry myth....good pr or as dl as a person could be.

The musical aspect took all the joy out of the story.

While I'm at it, I guess stereotyping of certain ethnic groups is OK with an overbearing Jewish mom who manipulates with guilt and eats at Chinese restaurants on Christmas but you just couldn't have a Chinese immigrant sing fa ra ra ra ra.

Lot's more to say but this production didn't warrant my effort. The only reason I'm even giving it this many lines is to avoid charges of racism for hating The Whiz...Live!

It was kind of lame, though I'm guessing it was based on the Broadway play which was based on the movie.

The dad was horrible. He spent the whole time acting like he hated his kids, his wife and his life. In the movie, the dad always seems to enjoy his family even though he didn't show a ton of emotion.

I wouldn't see the musical based off of that show. It was a decent way to waste a few hours but it isn't anywhere close to as good as the movie.

I watched it up until Farkus is revealed and I thought, I don't particularly enjoy this, and there's over 2 hours of it left. I think I am just going to cut my losses here. Then I watched football. I'm sure it would be different seeing this at a theater live, but it didn't do it for me on TV.
