#5 Martha Stewart -- While I could somewhat care less about her cooking, I would love to hear the stories about the insider trading scandal -- there's no doubt in my mind that these were probably trumped up charges; I'm sure similar stuff goes on all the time, but your average CEO/Board Member doesn't have as high a Q number. I think Martha could probably drink pretty well too; I don't think she would be too uptight to drink a beer -- at the very least she would have a martini with me.

#4 Jacques Pepin -- A living legend. Would definitely annoy him with all of my culinary questions. I once watched him debone a chicken and then was able to do the same thing at home to make a chicken roulade and I felt like I had accomplished something pretty sweet. Jacques has probably tasted everything under the sun about 10 times over, so would love to pick his brain about the best things he's ever tasted, the easiest things to make at home that would taste the best, etc. He routinely drinks wine on his shows, so the beer might be a stretch, but he seems game for whatever, so I could talk him into a Duvel, I bet.

#3 Hubert Keller - A master French chef, but rides a Harley and lives in Vegas. This would be the guy to go to for figuring out how to run a successful restaurant in the US. He has the cooking chops for sure, but also the marketing/business acumen to make a business thrive. He makes some really good food without making things too elitist -- I think he's the type who is really into specific things and could care less about everything else, so we'd have to find something in common to do a deep dive on. He is not opposed to beer with the correct food pairing, so I'd make sure we had some sliders as appetizers and get a nice French Saison.

#2 Edward Lee - From his background, he's got to be an interesting guy. Korean-American from Brooklyn who relocated to Louisville, and merges all three together in his cuisine. Won on Iron Chef, competed on Top Chef... have to be some good stories there. Working on his own bourbon blend as well as a Korean inspired hot sauce. Doesn't believe in following recipes, just using them as a starting point and bringing your own influences/thoughts to dishes. Unabashed fan of the Chicago style hot dog, I'd invite him up here and break out some of my bourbon barrel aged KBS.

#1 Ming Tsai -- Out of all the hosts around, he seems like the most down to earth of all. I can easily see him hanging out watching football on Sunday after preparing an awesome Asian inspired nacho plate. Seems to have a good natural sense of humor as well. I think he would cut the BS talk and give you the inside scoop on what it is like trying to craft a public image, what it takes to sell your overpriced cookware on HSN, etc. Seems like he would also have some good stories from back in the day when he was an up and coming chef who would stay out until 5 AM partying it up. Routinely drinks a wide variety of beer on his show, so I'd let him pick out the beer.

I would add Rick Bayless, just to hear him dish the shit on his brother. Also, he'd bring Tacos & Salsa.

I don't think he would talk dirt about anyone. I think he would talk more about endangered fishing practices in the Yucatan and we'd have nothing really to talk about. Although I do love his food, so if he brought some that would be great.

Hey! Listen up! Martha is pretty cool for a crazy old broad. We once got wild in the hot tub at Mandalay Bay. She had the most perfectly manicured landing strip I've ever seen. I may or may not have taken a trip to Flavortown that evening, but let me tell you, she certainly did!

And holy debauchery, Batman! You're right on about Hubie and Ming, bro! The three of us and Martin Yan finished off two eightballs in the kitchen at M.Y. China. after the Beard Awards back in 2013 and then ran a train on Dominique Creen. The boys couldn't stop laughing when Marty pulled out his shrim!

Kimball would be interesting since he is involved in the lawsuit between him and all of his former co-stars. But I think he would also be a bit of a jerk.

He's probably bring Lanie with him and it would all feel extra creepy.

I don't think I'd like him but I like Julia Collin - one of the featured chefs on there. Nick Stellino is one of my favorites. I'd invite Lidia Bastianich if she brought her son, Joe.

Julia and the other lady (I forget her name) are taking over his hosting duties for the next season. Joe was great on Masterchef -- hasn't been the same without him. If I were to pick just one PBS cook to cater a family event, I think Lidia would be in the top three.

You ever watch masterchef junior? He was great on it and you are right about it not being the same. I don't like the other lady on cooks illustrated but it's a great show. I like Mario Batali the best but Lidia is somebody's mom with recipes handed down for years that are good and comforting and family centered.

Anything with "junior" I don't watch. Who wants to see more smug, bratty kids?

My favorite moment on ATK was when Bridget Lancaster said to Chris as she drizzled some sauce on the finished meat on the plate: "this will finish you off...so to speak."

Some of them are bad but some are amazing.

I think it'd pretty much have to begin and end with the self loathing, old line wasp wannabe Martha. I've always found her & her daughter fascinating and then Snoop's appreciation of her leaves no other interesting choice.

I recall Yan Can Cook playing on Channel 11 back in the day. He seemed entertaining. That being said, I wouldn't have a beer with him, and I don't know any other PBS chefs. My wife sticks to the Food specific channels on cable. I would invite Scott Conant for a beer, and then punch him in his fat ugly face (Trump humor) since he doesn't like red onions.

I would love to get hammered with Mark Murphy. He seems the sort that would get a couple of drinks in him and then go cause mischief.

Gabrielle Hamilton seems like a funny person to laugh with or at. I'd pass on her food though, I don't get the allure of offal.

It's been years since I watched any PBS shows, but definitely Pepin. That old coot has had a hell of a career.

If this was 15 years ago, I'd have wanted to have a beer with her daughter. Well, maybe not a beer. But she's all high-faluting Connecticut money wife/mom now, so never mind.
