ok, so i got woke up at ~3:05am this morning, so when i checked out to see what was on adult swim in the fringey 3-330am timeslot i saw quite possibly the best thing i've ever seen on adult swim (no hyperbole):
Live at Necropolis: Lords of the Synth.
this is fucking BRILLIANT. it's like the closest thing you'll get to adult swim giving ceephax acid crew a TV show, and everything (all the way down to the forced-80s-aesthetic) is pitch perfect and fucking hilarious. the general concept = it's TV footage of a synthesizer contest in 1986, complete with announcers/color-commentary, celebrity riddled audience, and all kinds of wonderful little synthy in-jokes that seriously have me and electronic music friend cracking up at 5:30am (3:30am vancouver time). the 3 competitors in the synth contest (which takes place in 1986 and has something to do with paying homage to hailey's comet) are basically analogues (no pun intended) of aphex twin, giorgio moroder, and wendy carlos. and they just take this absurdly awesome idea and run with it for 10mins.... it's fucking brilliant.
so i share this here (that link up there = the whole 11 minute show on youtube via adult swim's YT channel) in the hopes that someone/anyone gets a kick out of it.... you know, just like i recently found out ~3-4ppl know who the KLF are and almost everyone thinks vlad should be in the HOF! maybe i'm pressing my luck here, but someone will enjoy this! have fun!
