They made a HUGE deal about trading Carlos Pena. "You are outside your mind". "He's an all-star". Sure. 8 years later. At the time of the trade he was hitting .218 7 HR 16 RBI.

Never would have drafted Kris Bryant because of his ugly GF.

Chad Bradford thanked him because "no one ever game me a chance before". I guess the 49 appearances he made for the White Sox over 3 years didn't count.

That’s not really a lot of appearance for a reliever over 3 years.

They "brought in" Jeremy Giambi along with David Justice and Scott Hatteburg to replace his brother's OBP. Problem is that was Jeremy's 3rd year with the team.

For the life of me, I still don't get how OBP replaces RBIs.

The worst sin of the book/movie is that it propagated the myth that Hatteberg and Bradford were the reasons for the team's success rather than the dominating starting rotation and their best players, Miguel Tejada and Eric Chavez who are barely mentioned.

Brad Pitt annoys me in this movie. Is Billy Beane known as a smug prick 24/7 because that's how Pitt portrayed him.

Yep. Mulder, Zito and Hudson were among the most dominant top three in a rotation, and they never get mentioned. But yes, Jeremy Giambi is the reason they played as well as they did. :?

Is this the annual thread where White Sox fans get mad about how much credit Billy Beane gets?

Because I will mark it.

Keyser just hates how scouts are depicted in the film -- old, always wrong, use screwy logic. We all know through dealing with Keyser that those things are just not true.
