Of course it's being remade. I enjoyed the original but this looks decent as well. Didn't recognize John Lithgow as Judd Crandall. Also not sure I like the kids in masks but whatever.

all I remember about this movie is me and a buddy went to see it at the old Hawthorne mall theater and we were the only 2 people in the place. We sat on opposite sides of the aisle like Siskel and Ebert.

Yes it felt very over the top.

Not a deal breaker or anything just odd.

Here's what the directors said about those scenes. Not spoilery.

Hmm. I think I like the explanation of how they went about it this time.

2nd trailer was released this week, but it’s got too many spoilers to post.

Saw a commercial last night during Walking Dead and even that gave away basically the whole movie.

Ridiculous.

It’s getting pretty obvious that more spoilers = the higher insecurity of the studio about the film’s box office potential.

Spoilers? the book is 35 years old, and the first movie is 30. hard to imagine most people interested in this movie aren't familiar with the general premise of the story by this point.

I’m not the studio, but I would imagine they want to get the new money as well as the old like what happened with the “IT” remake. MANY young people prolly associate King with horror having not read any or even more than a few of his books.

That's true, I know my 18-year-old son and his friends all were freaking out about the latest IT movie and none of them knew Stephen King at all. I have all of those old King books and offered them up to him to read and he was like "uh, no thanks".
