Meh, this probably won't appeal to many. Actually surprised HBO would even bother, but it kicks off tonight @ 9. Trying their best to hype up their post Thanksgiving match.

I'll give the first episode a look but expectations are very low. I'll be at myself parents for the actual event and he might ante up for it. I likely wouldn't have if I was at home.

Too bad they didn't put up their own cash. Would have made it a lot more interesting.

Watched it this morning. Pretty vanilla. Hard to watch these guys and think they really want a piece of one another. This series works a lot better
when they are setting up a boxing or UFC match when the guy want to kill each other.

Yup. I'll probably stream their match because it will be a Penske File day at work. I wouldn't be watching otherwise.

Maybe I'm the only one missing it, but what is the allure of this event?

Isn't essentially two inconceivably rich past their prime golfers playing a relaxing round of golf where at the end of them each guy is going to walk away with more money than most people make in their lifetime, yet it won't remotely change the financial fortunes of either man?

Am I missing something?

I'll watch it because everyone will be mic'd up. Phil loves to talk trash and people say Tiger can give it back with the best of them. I'll also enjoy hearing the chatter between player and caddie when it comes to the actual golf. And, yes this isn't the Tiger of old, but he's still the 13th ranked player in the world (Phil 27th) so the actual golf should be good.

Do they still do The Skins Game? That would be much more entertaining than a head-to-head match.

Grab 4 good golfers and throw it on NBC.

Yeah but what is the trash talk worth if nothing is on the line?

Give me Phil and Tiger talking shit on the back nine of a major, I want to tune in. Phil and Tiger talking shit over what amounts to a buck a hole for those guys? I will pass.

Not the HBO show.

Well, technically you do have to pay for the HBO show.

Or any HBO show for that matter...

Nope, you nailed exactly what is wrong with this event. There's nothing at stake. Tiger used to famously say that when someone would ask him to gamble and then ask him how much he wanted to bet he would say "whatever makes you uncomfortable." That's what makes it interesting. There's nothing about this that is going to make either uncomfortable. Winning a pile of our money to throw on the pile of money they already have doesn't exactly get the juices flowing.

So what would make these guys uncomfortable? In a fantasy world, have them each put up one of their green jackets and Masters victories. obviously that is make believe, but that's the kind of stakes that would be required to get these guys nervous. Alternatively, have them bet their own money. But, once again, how much would really make them nervous?

It took me 30 minutes just to figure out how to order this on U-Verse.

AT&T should make wasting my money easier.

I thought for sure I would be able to find a stream, as it would have been the perfect way to wrap up a Penske day here at the office. No such luck :(

Is there any crowd on the course?

Doesn't seem like a huge crowd. Beautiful course though. Don't know what/where it is.

Ugie's Twitter had some online streams I think.

Oh, this is good. Verlander just bet Barkley he can't double-bogey the 1st hole for $100k.

I think it is about to happen.

This has been a bit compelling...against all odds.

Confusing odds that they have been describing all day.

It would be kind of nice if someone hit a great shot to actually win this.

Or, just if anyone hit a great shot.

Wasn't the fun part to hear all the trash talking? They haven't talked to each other on the back nine.
