I watched the first episode and it was pretty entertaining. It seem like this reboot has the production value previous reboots were missing. I expect this one to succeed.

This episode had the same problem seen in Mrs. Maisel...the stand up comedy is a centerpiece of the show and it isn't funny, even the stand up that was supposed to be funny.

Not paying for CBS All Access so will probably never see this. Kinda lame Peele couldn't make it for one of the better streaming options

I think it’s lame the actual CBS network channel won’t air this reboot. All their other shit is better than one of the best television shows of all time created by THE hottest writer/director right now?

Guess they feel people would rather watch Young Sheldon or a Tim Tebow reality game show.

i think i've already ruined the experience for myself by reading a bunch of articles on it. i'd actually still like to watch "nightmare at 30,000 feet" though.

the biggest ball dropped though is the length of these episodes. there's a reason "twilight zone" still ticks: it's sharply tied up within a half hour. even "black mirror" can get bloated with the running time.

"twilight zone" the reboot should not be following "black mirror". it should be following its original origins.

and actually, that doesn't mean a big budget. something the original show never had.

i watched "nightmare at 30,000" feet first. i actually have very little interest in "the comedian".

the episode moves at a faster pace than the nearly-an-hour run time would make you think. but it is still clunky at parts. and the ending really doesn't work. it is pretty entertaining, but the point is pretty murky.

i saw some reviewers chastise the idea that instead of a monster, we got a "haunted podcast". i think changing the object of fear was pretty inventive, but i think the episode should've been able to make it more intriguing. like the monster, we're left to think that this could only be in his head--maybe that old mp3 player doesn't really exist except for his own sake. he wants it to exist, so it does.

but in the original, when he tries to get people to see the monster on the plane, they don't see anything. in this case, he can't get someone to listen to the podcast. i'm pretty sure someone would've been interested in hearing something like that, even just for the fun of it.

i saw this at a friend's house who has CBS All Access, and that's about as far as i'll take my interest. i'm not paying for another streaming service just to watch it and after seeing this, and hearing what i'm hearing about other episodes...i'm not regretting that decision. but i do hope, like "the comedian", they release "replay" on another medium so i can watch that one. that one looks pretty good.
