Interesting take...I guess. I don't know if we are supposed to interpret Dave's rebirth as him being pure thought. I looked at him being chosen to kind of watch over the Earth as some kind of god.

I know that in general documentaries take some liberties and can embellish some of the truth... but 2001: A Space Odyssey has to be the most inaccurate portrayal I have ever seen. I don't remember any of that stuff happening, but that was around the time that I started drinking so it's not surprising.

Yeah it's too accurate on many levels to have been accidental. Lyrics, songs starting and ending at certain parts, song names with what's happening on screen, and general mood and tone of songs. You can find that on youtube or google videos too I think. I also found a website awhile back that identified every correlation between the two. Maybe I can dig it up again.
