Shatner said recently he would play Kirk again under certain conditions and with the right script.

I would be ok with it. Watching him as Kirk in a Swan Song film would be better than watching Patrick Stewart as SJW Piccard in his reboot series. For being 89 years old, Shatner actually looks great. Could lose a few pounds, but his voice and mind are still in good shape.

But what script could possibly work for him at his age and as captain? I didn't like how he died in Generations. It was a terrible ending to his character, when he had dodged death so many times. That's what was so special about him as a magician captain, that he could get out of any situation, even the no-win situation in the Kobayashi Maru. You would need to introduce a good second since Spock is gone. Nimoy is irreplaceable.

Generations, should not of been made. He had his chance in the Star Trek movie reboot. Saying happy Birthday to Spock.

There was no resolution of the Spock character in film, because he didn't have a final death. He makes the guest appearance in the Star Trek reboot with Khan, explaining how Khan was the deadliest foe the crew had ever encountered when talking to his younger self. That is was it for the character. I think you could do something with Lt. Saavik, where she and Kirk go to Vulcan for Spock's burial or to pay last respects at his grave, something like that. For never having been in a Star Trek episode before or movie, Kirstie Alley actually did a very good job as Lt. Saavik in the Wrath of Khan. Who didn't find her hot in that movie? I didn't care much for the actress that came after her in the Search for Spock. I'm not saying use Kirstie Alley again, but you could emphasize a continuing mentoring relationship between Kirk and Saavik. En route to Vulcan or departing there is where main plot of the film with the antagonist would start. It could be the first encounter with the Q, with John de Lancie returning. He's fantastic. Having to fight the Romulans instead of Klingons is another possibility. George Takei and Walter Koenig are still alive, so Kirk still has his pilor/navigator and gunner.

I'd like to see Brent Spiner in the film, too, as Noonian Song or his descendant, Arik Soong.

Lightfoot needs to be given a prominent role in the film. Lightfoot, Sharpton, and the present commissioner of the NBA, Silver, can all play Romulan evil mongers.

George Takei won't step foot in the same state as Shatner.

Nimoy's Spock died in one of the new movies. It was on the news bulletins in one of those scenes.

George Takei talks a good game but he would sell out the moment he got an offer. He worked for Howard Stern for goodness sake.

They had to make him a Captain and give him his own ship so he wouldn't have to be in the same scenes as Shatner in VI.

Also, Takei insisted that Sulu should be a Captain by now in his career which I always thought was a weird stance as an actor.

No thank you, unless he and Stewart are laid out in some sort of tomb of dead captains, like the tombs of St. Peter's Basilica.

He’s a rebel who can’t the rules so he keeps getting demoted and not getting his own ship.. run with it George.
