I put this on last night for the fam after dinner. It was okay. Didn't knock my socks off, though.
Couldn't get over how the guy who played Frankie Valli really didn't sound anything like him. Valli hit an octave or two higher that this guy just could not even touch.
Would have enjoyed it if they just dubbed-in the original recordings instead of going with the actors' voices for their iconic songs.
exactly! there is only one franky valli. they should have dubbed. the actor's voice was terrible. and casting of Christopher Walken as the Italian Mob Boss was pretty stupid. But overall good movie.
Always been a fan Vincent Piazza from his Boardwalk Empire days. Too bad the guy doesn't get much roles.
I agree on Lucky Luciano.
He was my fave actor in the movie.
The guy who played Valli kept smiling through his lines like he knew a camera was on him the whole time. That, and Frankie Valli never had a baby face. For having such a high voice, he had a very tough-looking face, kinda like a Sly Stallone lookalike (or vice versa, of course), which made his high-reaching headbellows have all the more gravity, in my opinion.
