If you watched the original in 1992, definitely recommend the reunion episodes they did. A little nostalgia, with modern day issues mixed in. Need Paramount+ to watch it, but can do free trial and cancel.

The Real World was good for 3 things.

1. The Miz
2. Puck
3. Trishelle

None of them were on season one.

Damn, a Puck blast outta left field. One of my childhood and now middle-aged friends always reminded me of Puck, without the "being a total dick" part.

Puck was reviled by the pussy liberals in the house like Mo and Petey HIV. Rachel knew Puck was the man and gave him that sweet Latina tongue and probably more. And she's gone on to be more successful than any of those dopes, marrying a U.S. Congressman and likely taking over for Martha McCallum in Fox Primetime. Judd was the worst turd of them all, building a career on his dead buddy's bones. It's really ghoulish if you think about it. Not to mention his cartoons sucked. Pam was a dope too. That kind of goes without saying since she married Judd.

Long live The Puck!

You forgot about Tami Roman. Getting one's jaw wired shut for no apparent reason other than to obtain more screen time shows real dedication to the craft that is Reality TV. And then to parlay it into marriage with and alimony from an NBA player. She belongs on your list, pal.

"the real world" became an increasingly ironic title as the seasons went on. it was trash but a few seasons were totally watchable. i mostly loathed all of the people.

THAT WASN'T NOT FUNNY!

I used to be obsessed with that show for a season or two. I think it was Boston 1997. Probably since I was in high school and could relate to those idiots.

That's probably why I still like season 1. I realize none of it was completely "real", but it was new, and unknown. Similar the first season of Survivor, or American Idol, etc. After a season or 2, the contestants are going into the show with a complete game plan and marketing strategy.

Yeah, like there are people who are now professional Bachelor contestants. I think it's safe to say they aren't really looking for a spouse.

Speaking of which, now that Colton is out the woke and the LBGT+ "community" are demanding a gay Bachelor. I hope they do it so we can see how much interest there really is in such a thing.

Before we met each other, my wife and I watched Real World (and Road Rules), and then after we met we watched it together for a couple of seasons. I can't remember which season it was when we kinda of mutually agreed it was time to move on, maybe it was the Seattle one, or Hawaii. Those are the last two I can remember. I remember the Hawaiian girl getting passed-out drunk every episode, which was kind of fun. I remember the black guy in Seattle smacking that whiny girl in the face and getting kicked off the show. If he did that TODAY, holy shit, he'd be getting arrested but back then it was still kind of cool to smack a girl in the face if she was mouthing off.

I agree that Puck was a series highlight, and they used to bring him back for all the reunions so he could piss people off and cause trouble. Judd was a pussy, hated that guy. I remember a season in New Orleans where I hated the whole cast. Maybe that was the last season I watched. I cant remember the order they were in.

I never got the appeal of the show. But then again I can't stand all of the reality shows.

Love Cruise. Coincidentally it was produced by Bunin/Murray, the same company that brought us The Real World. A couple people who worked on my show were castmembers on Road Rules or Real World.

Didn't they produce every crappy reality show from the late 90's/early 2000's?

The Challenge is awesome though. It pretty much killed the Real World though.

The Challenge is terrible. Hard to tell what is the worst part of that show, the completely unlikeable cast every season or the god awful production of the show. Actually I think the worst part is that every episode is 1.5 hours long. Just a completely unwatchable show at this point.

Watching an episode of Survivor and then watching an ep of Challenge you would think the Challenge was a high school AV project.

I would agree with you for this season. I blame COVID though.
