I got into Ghost Rider for a little bit in the early 90s, but honestly don’t remember Shang Chi being a big character during my heavy Marvel reading days.

Man, they are digging deep for some of this stuff. Ive never heard of most of these characters which isn't surprising since i was never a comic book enthusiast. I used to think the whole comic book movie thing would dry up eventually, but boy oh boy, i'm not so sure anymore. Just one show or movie after another.

When Disney paid about the same for Marvel as it did for Lucasfilm/StarWars (about $4b), I thought they overpaid for Marvel...turns out it was the much better investment.

I thought our Chinese overlords must have demanded this one but it looks like they might have trouble getting a Chinese release. According to Variety it looks like the Chinese propaganda department aren't big fans of Shang-Chi for some reason as China hasn't listed it as a future release.

I barely know who this guy is...they should do a legit R rated slasher flick with Moon Knight. That would be cool.

The Chinese propaganda machine thinks the lead actor doesn’t look Chinese enough amongst other things. Not a joke.

I also thought they banned films with dragons, but apparently this movie has one.

One thing that really bugs me about Disney bowing down to China is that means we will probably never get Mephisto in a movie as there is a ban on devil type characters and/or demons in that country’s media.

Moon Knight is going to be a series on Disney+ starring Oscar Isaac.

I think they are filming now.

That's too bad. They should of went dark with Moon Knight. I remember the Sienkiewicz run on Moon Knight and he went dark and it made the character a lot more interesting. He'll probably come off as a lame Batman clone on Disney.

China is problematic in a lot of ways.

Yeah I’m no fan of the Chinese government.

I almost bought some Moon Knight collections last year when I heard the show was going to happen.

I’ve read bios and Wikis about him, but I’ve never invested my time in one of his comic book runs.

Maybe I’ll check out that writer’s run you mentioned.

I also worry that Disney will nerf the character’s personality, but I do think Oscar Isaac is a very talented actor.

Hopefully, he can add the depth Moon Knight needs.

Disney got this backwards. Black Widow would have done well with an in theater release. This thing should have had both. We actually sat down to watch it as a family last night and were shocked that it wasn't available streaming.
