There was a place in Lyons? maybe I think it was on Odgen that we would go all the time. One of my friends I'd go with for a while would say mortal kombat when I walked into a party. I finally said stop it I don't want people knowing I'm a video game geek. He said that's not why I do it. You usually select a fighter you want to roll around with, kiss him, then rip his spine out. I said well that's not very nice.

Guys who I grew up with were the models for the characters. They came in and did the martial arts stuff that was digitized.

Bob's was basically where Stella's batting cages are now in the early 90s. There was a different one that was just video games kinda across the street from the old SA gas station and Stein's delicatessen, right about where Tony's Mexican Grill is now.

Pretty sure Camps did the voice for a character in a later edition.

Stella's was great. I forgot about that place. That might be about right. I think it was on the north side of the street and closer to first than Manheim.

Halfway through the movie and its pretty funny how immediately on board the Johnny Cage dude is with whats happening.

Random guy shows up to your cage match and tells you that your birth mark means youre part of a prophecy and tells you to go to Gary, Indiana? Sure thing dude, I will immediately abandon my family and do that.

Sonya Blade? More like Plot Exposition Blade.

Also funny was the interaction Shang Tsung has with Bi-Han. The way the characters are introduced clearly establishes that they've known each other for some time but Bi-Han tells Tsung that his name is actually Sub-Zero.

Would love to know how a centuries old Chinese ninja landed on Sub-Zero as a name.

Also odd that they flipped the script and made Scorpion the good guy.

Anyways pretty enjoyable so far.

Enjoyed it, but it felt like an extremely abrupt ending. I’m also not clear what Cole’s power was. It seemed like he developed a form fitting leather shirt with retractable, albeit useless, blades.

Not quite fireballs or a laser eye.
