six part episodic forwarding the story from movies Creep 1 and 2. I haven't seen the movies. I don't know if this is good or bad for watching half hour shorts whose genesis is in the films. Either way, it gives me the ability to review the show independent of movies that were sufficiently popular to create a universe.

Serial killer and frustrated actor lures various people from the film industry to meet him in locations ostensibly to film him for a resume tape. The first four episodes are different takes of ultimately the same story. The last two episodes give more background about our protagonist.

I thought each were interesting but the first four do become monotonous. The last two are must watch. The story has a lot of fun in it with the purposely bad acting and slapstick comedy. It also has plenty of horror but definitely is more made for tv in its level of gore. I've liked the star, Mark Duplass, since his days on The League and I think he does a great job here.

Definitely recommend, although I think you could get away with watching one of the first four but definitely hitting 5-6. Easily consumable at 20-25 minutes per and they really don't leave you wanting more of the individual stories.

Now, I'll probably never get a chance to watch the source material.

I didn’t know Mark Duplass expanded this into a series. I only saw the first movie and it was really well done albeit predictable.

In the TV series, they show his drawer of videos at the opening of each episode. Every tape has the name of the person who he filmed, except one. The one is a Pittsburgh Pirates vid. Do they explain that in the movie? I cannot find the answer across these internets. No one in production seems to be from Pitt. The killer isn't based in pitt. It's something that is so incongruous it just gets in your brain

I’m guessing it’s some kind of joke, like here’s a taping of a baseball game among these brutal murders.

Duplass is really good as this nice guy on the surface maniac, and in the first movie he pretends he’s dying of a terminal disease and is making a home movie for his kid like in “My Life”. The videographer he hires goes along with his increasingly weird requests until it goes off the rails.

I don’t have AMC+ so I can’t watch the series but it does look good.

Only thing I recall is a slow moving movie and a low T videographer with zero survival instincts.

I started the first Creep but I had to turn it off to go to bed. My son got home from school, watched it and then told me the spoilers. I already knew what was going to happen anyway and I think its a way for him to work out his fear when he watches horror movies. I think its cute that he's a big, tough guy who gets frightened by these things and still wants to watch. Horror is cathartic.
