This movie is getting great reviews. Its got a 97/98 on Rotten Tomatoes...that's a real 97/98 they didn't pay for it like Disney/Amazon. It was only scheduled for limited release until Thursday but they extended another week when it hit #1 on Monday. It looks better than the Disney and Legendary trash on a 15 million dollar budget. It cost a little more than half an episode of She-Hulk to make.

Total budget 15 million...an episode of She-Hulk 25 million. Not sure about the title...I've seen it suggested they should of called it Oppenheimer 2.

What is the significance of the "Minus One?"

I think its a Japanese translation meaning something like an extinction event. It takes place right after WW2 when Japan is on the brink so this event could push them over the edge. It will be interesting to see how well this movie does as it has no marketing only positive reviews and word of mouth are pushing it. It was only supposed to get a week but its been extended already. From what the reviews are saying the human story stands up unlike the trash from Legendary.

Theater was about half-full at my showing. Napoleon got the IMAX in my area so that sucked had to watch in standard. It was very good...the only thing I will say is it didn't get the ending it earned. Its crazy this was made on a 15 million dollar budget there was only one scene where it showed.

i saw this on netflix, which has rightfully been getting hammered for only offering the Enlglish dub, which I fully believe hinders the appreciation and entertainment value of the whole experience. the dub makes the actors all seem bad, which i don't think can really be. the delivery for a lot of the lines feel like cut scene PS2 level. it's a shame because the movie itself was good.

i guess there's a b&w version of it which would also be cool to see. but i'm really disappointed that we don't get the original japanese language considering Netflix has all kinds of shows & movies that are foreign and in their native language.

tough to rate until i see it in its original language, but overall i liked the movie. i liked that it criticized the japanese government the way it did. and the human story was actually well done.

my daughter and I saw this in the theater back when it came out, and we both really enjoyed it. The subtitles where a non-issue for us as far as being distracting. It truly was amazing how good it looked considering the budget. There were a couple scenes where it showed but even that worked as an advantage I thought, it gave the movie a nod to the original series. The story was good in the sense I actually did care about the characters which is rare in an action movie like this. We both thought the pace kind of ground to a halt later in the movie formulating and implementing their plan, but the payoff was worth it in the end.

It was a really good movie but the plot is basically "The main character is a loser and everyone hates him and treats him like garbage" and then you get cool Godzilla scenes.
