i don't get hooked on television often (except for THE WIRE) but both of these shows are super rad.

Havent caught Deadliest Catch yet, but Ax Men is pretty damn riveting. Im thinking of getting the DVD series when it comes out in a few weeks. Ill have to check out deadliest catch this season as well. The history channel had alot of really good shows on.

Catch is good but it's very repetitive. A lot of the same shots each show, better to just watch the best of shows or run through the marathon.

Anyone who likes these two would also most likely be a fan of Ice Road Truckers

Same thought with Ice Road Truckers, it's like they don't shoot enough footage. hour long show with about 10 minutes of new information and footage. I can't watch it without dvr so i can fast forward through the repeat scenes.

Agreed it's like they are putting together shows for people with no short term memory or a 2 minute attention span. I know a lot of "US Americans" claim to have ADD or ADHD but don't program my TV for those retards.

I have never heard of either of these shows. What are they about and what channel(s) are they on?

That's a solid recap Doug - best character in all 3 shows is Cig Hansen the captain of the Northwestern crab fishing boat. He's always a quality sound bite and works his men hard and pulls no punches. Exactly how I like my crab fishing captains.
