Man alive, talk about some heavy hitters. I was jacked when I read this movie was going to start Depp. Mann and Bale should put it over the top!
Christian Bale is adding another prestige picture to his resume by agreeing to star opposite Johnny Depp in Michael Mann's "Public Enemies."
Set during the Depression, Mann's crime drama is an adaptation of Bryan Burrough's novel "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-34," which chronicled the government's attempts to stop and convict notorious criminals John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd. As Melvin Purvis, Bale will play the agent who led the hunt for Dillinger and captured more criminals than any other FBI crusader in history. Depp will play the charismatic Dillinger.
"Enemies" will begin production this winter in Chicago and other locations in the Midwest.
