Anyone else watch this show? I was late in watching this show and I just got caught up to the new episodes and while I am enjoying the last season a lot, my biggest gripe is that they got to earth last season and it was barren. I'm annoyed b/c I thought that was how the show was going to end.

This is probably the best show on TV, sci-fi or no. It's pretty dark and depressing but from beginning to end it has been quality.

I don't think they are done with the Earth storyline. It has to play into the resolution of the whole story in some way.

This show is amazing. No topic is untouchable (suicide bombing, rebellions, religion, cloning) and no one is safe. This should be a manifesto on how to write and produce interesting television for every network out there.

It is the best show on TV, no probably about it. It sounded like the Earth plot for the end of season 4.0 was there just in case the writers strike put the show out of commission and they couldn't come back for 4.5. Knowing that, I certainly can't see anything positive happening for the rest of the show as will only get darker and darker. Olmos has hinted as much from the interviews. While I guess the "this has all happened before and will all happen again stuff" will mean there's some hope left at the end I hope the ending isn't totally depressing as, if it is, it will suck all my enjoyment out of rewatching all the older episodes I have on DVD if I know they're all going to die anyway.

They had an auction for the props a while ago and people payed stupid crazy prices for some of it. Six's dress sold for $13k. I bet that guys dry cleaning bill will get pretty high. Adama's desk $7k, Arrow of Apollo $8k, Starbuck's flight suit $14k. The list goes even further. If I was filthy rich I would have bought the presidential painting of Gauis Baltar.

I used to listen to Ron Moore's podcast on the show, which was excellent. I don't know if he's still doing it.

But, he told a funny story about the props. They had an episode with a model ship in Adama's office. Olmos, crazy/intense actor that he is, gets incensed during the scene as Adama's character does, and decides to destroy the ship (not in the script) to act out the anger.

Well, turns out that ship was a museum piece that they had gotten on consignment. It cost something like $80,000. Insurance had to cover it I think.

The prop guy about had a heart attach when Olmos destroyed it.

A lot of fans are puzzled by Sci-Fi Channel, DIRECTV 244, and their decision to end such a popular series after 5 years on its air. Unlike the original series from the late '70s, which airs now at 12Noon Saturdays on WWME 23 "Me TV", the current "Galactica" has generated quite a cult following.

Too many series go on for too long, ending it after 4 and the mini-series seems about right.

A lot of series last too long, KDdidit. The original "Galactica" lasted only from 1978-80 on ABC while the current Sci-Fi version has been on the air since 2004. In TV terms, that's a long shelf live for a series.

Well one of The Vipers has painted on the side the call Sign, Silent Bob in honor of Kevin Smith. I wonder if his wife let him bid on it

I was surprised they couldn't sell any of the Vipers. I mean they were up for auction but they didn't meet the minimum bids which were around $50k. I guess needing a whole garage or something just to house one would be an issue.

Glad there are other people who like the show,
so is anyone else thinks (those of you who have not read spoilers) that Tigh's wife is not the final cylon? I always thought she was just an older 6, I thought it was Zerek.

I'm a fan, and oddly enough I got the wife into it too. Unlike many of these type of shows, they are ending it at a good time. I only hope they have enough time to tie up so many loose ends.

Mud.......No spoilers unless you give a warning ... you violated a huge man rule

Wow, Incredible. It seems everyone is turning up the acting chops for the last few episodes and the writers are not pulling any punches.
Just when Katie turned in a Emmy performance last week , now we get one from Alessandro turns on in 10x more impressive.

This is gonna be a great ending. I just would like one more big space battle with a furball the size of Jupiter!!

What is the moratorium on discussing shows after they are released? I think a couple days after a TV show makes it fair game. No more than a week (which I clearly violated)

By the way, you don't actually see anything so technically I didn't spoil anything... i'm saying that I'm just saying.

Shit, if you're reading a thread about a show you should be able to talk about anything that has already aired. It's not like you went into a Bulls thread and started talking about BSG. Maybe I wouldn't talk about what they show in the previews for the next week's show (Ellen), but that's about it.

this last episode explained alot... I have to admit, I was set up for some let down about the Final 5 and their relationship with the 7(8) models. I found the explanation pretty satisfying.

Yes it did. It will be interesting how it will end. I want to know the reason for the song they where hearing as well.
I am painting up some little Ships. I have 3 battlestars, 1 baseship. 24 Vipers, 24 Raiders and 4 Raptors. The little ships are like 3/4 inch so the painting is taking time for the Vipers. The big ships are 4 to 41/2 inch long. I am having fun with them. Once I finsih up the paint Jobs I will post pics

Seemed like they crammed a shit ton of explanations into that single episode. I don't think it was too much, but it was close.

the final episode is now looking to be 3 hours long.

I'm starting to think that everyperson on the show is a cylon.
