I'm pretty intrigued by early reviews. Hope it doesn't suck. Might be going to see it Friday.

If I wanted to watch some gay dude prancing around for two hours I'd head out to the Quad Cities.

It stars Sasha Baron Cohen. Yes, the same Sasha who starred as another weirdo three years ago in theaters, "Borat". I believe that movie was on USA Network, DIRECTV 242, over the weekend...

Somewhere in the guts of this board there is a Tall Midget review of Borat. Shark, you should read it. Your view of the character as weirdo may change.

This movie is going to be quite polarizing.

Expect more than just GLAAD to come out against this flick.

I suspect most people won't get the satire. But there are a *ton* of cock & balls shot :::GRID IRON ALERT!!!! MALE NUDITY!!!:::

Come to think of it...this seems to be the norm. What is that, the third alarm I've had sound off in like 6 months? Is male nudity the "in" thing now?

Anyway, this movie has some gut busting moments, but I was a bit disappointed with its pace, and some of it is a bit hackneyed and put on (especially the number at the end). All in all, it is still extremely entertaining, and this movie should be seen with a really wildly enthusiastic crowd. I was a bit let down that I was only watching with about 10 other people in a large, cavernous theatre, and one of them was a girl who had the most annoying laugh of all time. This would be one of the few times I urge you to see this at a sold out showing. Laughter is a great thing to share. It becomes its own energy.

The thing that struck me was not so much how much Cohen pushes the envelope (I don't think much can shock me, after the invention of rotten.com), and you can do so much now on the internet--it was what got through the MPAA. While there are blot outs, there is literally a scene that would constitute as pornography. I'm amazed this didn't get an NC-17 rating. I did have to show my ID though.

This movie really wants to offend you, and he goes out of his way to. When he connects, it's a grand slam. When he misses, it's a back spasm, 15-Day DL. He hits more than misses but I still liked "Borat" better for some reason. Maybe this felt a little too put on at times. Or maybe the act is getting a bit tired.

Either way, it'll make you laugh. And Cohen still puts together a good show.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

Saw the movie last night. 945 show at the new and improved Cinemark theatre at the Louie Joliet Mall.(They've gone digital, just ask 'em)

The room was suprisingly just under half full. Lots of laughing and the movie didn't go too long. The duets with the celebs and the end credits gave everyone a chance to compose themselves before heading out of the movie.

I know the movie was good by the crowd reaction. Nobody got up to run for the doors and I may have missed something, but what was left to cover after what the crowd witnessed??

One of the last scenes of the movie is the cagefighting bit. I remember reading this on TMZ when it happened. It added a little twist at the end since there was more than one guy in the audience wearing Tapout or Affliction t-shirts. Fucking hi-larious.

I watched it online, Last scene was the best imo. lol @ the exercise bike.

Bruno was my least favorite character from the HBO series back in the day, but it was badass when He scamed the wrestling crew on spring break, should have revamped that bit for the movie.
