There seems to be big trouble behind the scenes of the much-publicized "Jay Leno Show", airing weeknights at 9p on NBC. For starters, viewers have been staying away since some 17 million tuned in for the premiere last Monday of Leno's new show. What seems to be the biggest problem Leno is facing right now is that he wants ONLY A-list guests on his new show, and unless they're really, really big, viewers will tune out. Sources tell the Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker that "the bookers are talking tougher to publicists than I've ever heard," and that many stars prefer doing the "Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS rather than do Leno's new show. The novelty might already be wearing off and that Jay might not last that long at 9p Monday-Friday.

You now whats wrong with the Jay Leno Show? Fuckin Jay Leno. This guy is a cheese ball. Almost all of his bits are lame and tired. He doesn't know if he wants the old folks or the young ones. So sadly he is neither hip or hooked up with the Geritol crowd. Yea every show wants the top stars but, you got to have something to entertain the masses when the big stars are not out pimping their new movie or going on Letterman or Conan.

I watched Jerry Seinfeld on the first show (even though it was choppy/digitized as hell) and have not tuned in since. I'm not big on these types of show though. I have watched Conan a hell of a lot more than I ever watched Letterman/Leno though.

Good.

This vanilla fucking hack getting the numbers he did for so long just proves how many dumbfucks there are in this country.

I hope he goes away to play with his 50 vintage autos.

While Jay Leno may have removed the desk and put two big chairs in its place to give it more of a casual look, many of the same bits he had on the "Tonight Show" came with him, such as "Headlines"...What's really different? :?

I'm a Leno fan. How many other famous people have done free shows as he did this summer in economically challenged areas? Leno is good people. I hope his show succeeds.

Two seperate issues. One has nothing to do with the other.

I heard Alan Thicke was a big charity guy. Should his show be put back on the air?

Oddly enough I watched one Jay Leno episode and the ONLY funny part was the Alan Thicke Skit.

According to Broadcasting & Cable, the novelty has worn off in a hurry for Leno. Another case in point...The season premiere of "CSI: NY" on CBS Wednesday night easily beat Leno in the ratings. "CSI: NY" had 14.5 million viewers compared to 6.5 mil for Jay...
