This could be the worst movie of the decade. Wow. How did this get enough money to put an A-list actress in the lead and not end up in Hallmark Movie Channel hell where it belongs?

It would have made a good mini-series for NBC once the SNF is off the air.

Saw this over the weekend and thought it was a good flick. Sort of chick flicky with a bit of a sports theme. Bullock was good in her role IMO.

Is that the one that's supposed to be the "life story" of the rookie o-lineman on the Ravens? They were talking about it a lot during the Steelers/Ravens game a couple weeks ago.

so, basically...the teenage girls to early 30 somethings missing the sex in the city days saw the vampire flick...

and the milf's went to see Sandra...

got it. thanks for suffering through TBS for me. I had hopes it would be a good football movie.

I would give it a recommendation if you have a date that wants a tear jerker type movie and you want a little football thrown in. Bullock was a bonus as Milf but also portrayed her role well. Few decent football scenes. Not a full football movie. I still thought it good but for the this crowd I would guess Jimmypasta hit it on the head.

If you have to go to a emotion driven flick and don't care or can't get your lady to go for football I suggest PRECIOUS. You are going all in. The acting is excellent. Heavy subject matter but definitely the better flick.

You deserve bonus points for going to either.

my head would explode at the nick saban scene. the small clip itself in the preview was enough to make my head swell to three times its size.

i'm not taking that chance.

For those that saw the movie, did it stay true to the book? Or was it just about Oher? The book was a combination of his story and the "money ball" aspect of the left tackle position in the NFL.

I didn't read the book. The start, mid point and end touched on the importance of left tackle. Don't want to give it all away. It is more feel good than football stats stuff but some exists. If you read the book it is rental worthy.

I'm still pissed off at the mid to late 90s because every semi-O.K. looking girl always compared herself to Sandra Bullock. She isn't that hot, and neither are you. Ladies from that era should have aspired to compare themselves favorably to Mira Sorvino or Erika Eleniak. Not run-of-the-mill Bullock.

This wasn't a bad movie, but its not a sports movie really. Its a 'feel good' movie. It is a good date movie :D

Not much of the moneyball aspect. The flick starts showing Thiesman's leg snapping, and thats how they bring in the aspect of the left tackle being very important yadda yadda.

Anyway, I liked it but I wasn't expecting a sports movie so there you go.

The reviews of this movie are real good, and Sandra Bullock may be nominated for an Oscar for her role...

They're showing the real Micheal Oher and the Touhys on 20/20 now. The real life daughter is actually pretty cute.
