Saw it this past weekend. If you're a fan of Gilliam's work, this is going to delight. I enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the performances by Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole (she is HOT), and especially Andrew Garfield whom I was unfamiliar with before this film.

As for our friend, Heath Ledger, he does give a top performance here, better than his counterparts (out of Depp, Farrell, and Law I think Law was actually my favorite because he was very Rik Mayall-esque). I don't know if he'll be nominated for an Oscar for this one, but I hope he shows up because it seems like a lot of people were upset that he wasn't at last year's. Jolie wouldn't stop crying!

Anyway, it's a typical Gilliam film in that it's very visual and it's very off the wall. In many ways, he actually borrows from his older films. The scenes of Parnassus as a bum are straight out of "The Fisher King" or "12 Monkeys". Ledger's character Tony *is* Brad Pitt from "12 Monkeys"; Plummer screams of Baron Munchausen, and some of the disjointed dialog and awkward scenes reminded me of "Brazil".

It's definitely not his best film but it is a good one. It won't last long in the theatres but I'd recommend a viewing on demand or on netflix if you're in the mood for some strange fun.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

Good call WZ.

Went to see it a few weeks ago.....really enjoyed it.

I could only imagine what it would be like to watch this baked. You'd probably have to be peeled out of your chair.

Cool flick.
