"Plot: Paul Aufiero, a 35-year-old parking-garage attendant from Staten Island, is the self-described “world’s biggest New York Giants fan”. He lives at home with his mother, spending his off hours calling in to local sports-radio station 760 The Zone, where he rants in support of his beloved team..."

Patton Oswalt was on Conan last night. This movie goes to DVD next Tuesday (1/12)
That's nice, since I don't remember it coming to the show locally. It sure looked good!

The movie had a limited release. I believe, if I do say myself, and I think I will, that the movie was what they refer to as an "indie", short for "independent film", meaning that it wasn't released by a major studio, hence Patton Oswalt starring as opposed to Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Johnny Depp.

Yeah, but if an indie film, and I can accept you calling it that, plays for a very short time, which it did, including only one show in Chicago, which also happened to coincide with the same night that he was performing stand-up, usually that means it did not drive the popularity and resulted in more showings, which would have resulted in more money, which I think we can agree everyone wants.

Tim Robbins would be a better match.

I'm suprised CoF didn't put together a board screening. Maybe Mac could let us watch on one of his big screens.

Hi,
Finally saw this movie last night. (rented off Comcast :5 bucks) It was a little less then what I expected. The movie falls apart right in the middle after the "incident". A lot of close-ups of Oswalt making weird faces that is supposed to signify that he was "thinking". There must be about a good 5-10 minutes of wasted film with "spence" Oswalt looking bemused. Simple story that looks like it was filmed by simple minds. I was disappointed, but the ending was pretty good despite a weak movie. For that,I give it 2 stars out of 5.

So this is a biopic loosely based on ES?

It was at Landmark for a long time. Still there when I saw Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

Just saw it tonight, and while I appreciated the film quite a bit from a structural perspective, the content made me sick to my stomach. Had to thank my girlfriend for sitting through it with me. Ending (no spoilers) might be one of the greatest punchlines I've ever seen in a film, though.
