Fox has renewed two “bubble” series and given series orders to four pilots.
* “Human Target” will be back, but with new showrunner Matt Miller (“Chuck”) replacing Jonathan Steinberg.
* “Lie To Me” will be back, but with somebody to be announced replacing Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”) as showrunner.
* Ryan left “Lie To Me” so he could run new cop drama “RideAlong,” which Fox just ordered to series. Set in Chicago, “RideAlong” will center on three groups of police officers -- ranging from uniformed beat cops to the female chief of police.
* “Midland” is also going to series. Created by screenwriter Kyle Killen (the upcoming Mel Gibson-Jodie Foster feature “The Beaver”), “Midland” follows a West Texas conman with two wives (“Friday Night Lights’” Adrianne Palicki and “Crash’s” Eloise Mumford) in two different towns. Jon Voight plays the Palicki character’s father, described as a “Texas legend.”
* Also ordered to series are two sitcoms: “Keep Hope Alive,” a single-parent story from “Yes Dear”/”My Name Is Earl” creator Greg Garcia; and “Traffic Light,” from writer Bob Fisher (“Married With Children,” “Wedding Crashers”), about a trio of thirtysomething men who have been friends since childhood.
Fox announces its fall schedule Monday.
