You know a movie strikes a chord when you witness 3 senior citizens get up and walk out midway through. This movie has been getting OK reviews and I liked it,but I still think it could have been way funnier. Too dependant on saying shocking things instead of more sight gags. A lot of the humor is either a near miss or slightly funny. There are some scenes that will make you laugh hard including one disturbing sight gag. Let's just say you might not want a veggie tray after seeing some of the stuff in here. It only runs 88 minutes long. a comedy like this could have easily run another 15 or 20 minutes with some more skit comedy,but I guess they didn't want to make the effort. I will say this,the star,Will Forte,might be stealing some future roles from former SNL alum,Will Ferrell,who's schtick has gone way beyond the expiration date. I give MacGruber 2.2 stars on a scale of 4.
