It's another television family that flamed out. They may have made a shitload of money, but Paul and Paul Jr. are now in court, as Senior is suing Junior.

The father/son team behind the hit TV series American Chopper may be heading to court. Paul Teutul, Sr. has filed a lawsuit against son Paul Teutul, Jr. over who has control of Orange County Choppers, the family company made famous by the long-running reality show. Paul Tuetul, Sr. claims his son misappropriated assets and took part in "competitive business activities" that damaged the company.

Through the Paul Teutel lawsuit, dad hopes to buy out his son's shares in Orange County Choppers. According to court documents, Paul Sr. sent a letter to his son saying that he was exercising his option to buy out his son's share in the company. According to Paul Sr., his son never complied.

Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul M. Teutul had a very public falling out, which was chronicled on American Chopper. In the Season 6 premiere, Paul Sr. and son had a contentious contract dispute, which led to Paul Jr.'s departure from the company. After a brief reconciliation, Paul Jr. left the OCC for good to explore other opportunities. In later episodes, Paul Jr. was seen working as a consultant at Orange County Choppers.

The only thing interesting about this show is the lawsuit. Without Jr being involved in the design it hasn't been the same. The info on the tv guide said something about jr gathering the family for a big announcement?

Maybe Mikey will finally come out of the closet tonight.

I never even saw the episode explaining his "addiction"

Didn't see the show last night but I think I DVR'd it. Mikey admitted he was
an alcoholic and dried out for a month in treatment. Now he is trying to become
a stand-up comedian. He is pretty awful.

Don't worry guys. There are plenty of other reality shows on TV featuring white trash.

It was a cool show, but definitely started to go downhill as soon as Vinny left.

The announcement wasn't that big of a deal.

You know the bikes all started to look like they were just cookie cuttered together. The build times got quicker as the bikes got more boring. I think as lazy a Jr. was he very talented with the design aspect of the bikes. Maybe Sr. did not get the best out of Jr. because he did not recognize this. All told this show is ready to fade away and watching it anymore is almost a task unto itself. Although I did like that Kobalt tool box with the fridge built in the bottom.

That is very true. Vinny and that kid they had interning after school both bailed to start their own shop. I don't remember them ever addressing the situation though I didn't watch ever single episode. It really started to suck when they got that new graphic design guy in. He was annoying as all hell and it only got worse as the show wore on.

I used to get a chuckle out of the relationship between Sr. and Jr.

Not after watching last night's episode. Paul Senior is a creepy. He also looked 'ashen' and awful when saw him at a trade show back in June.

That is one dysfunctional family, and it's pretty clear that Senior's ego is way the fuck out of control.

Good stuff here on the situation (with plenty of good comments): http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2009/07/03 ... -business/

And a Vinny update, who I thought was awesome when I regularly watched the show several years ago: http://www.designbyjoyce.com/vinnie/

I didn't even realize the show was on its way out but between the move to TLC and Vinnie leaving the show it got harder and harder to watch. Talk about a group of guys who's ego's got totally out of control. By the end the only guy who I could even tolerate was Rick. Just goes to show you to be careful of too much success/exposure.

Yet another pillar of society I have no thoughts on.... Sigh

1. I may be stupid, for not watching this & having thoughts on it,
2. "Pillar of society" might be overstating shows importance.

I'm fine with both being "true".

They were niche bikes. I've seen every episode, and I'm actually sad it's over. It's the only "reality" show I watch.

they truly have wasted a TON of money, and I agree that their ego's rocketed out of control. That being said, they are a true rags to riches story, but money does change things.

Hey Cab,
Your memory is better than mine! I forgot that was my avatar. (Don't remember if that was my first. I remember the Cleaver family as an early one.)

This apparently happened a while ago, but they were in the news today anyways because of some accident at the new shop. Cool to see vinnie and jr are back working together. I wouldn't be surprised to see this back on tv again.

...and they're back next month with new shows!

Senior vs. Junior
American Chopper

Great way to inject life into the show by pitting the old man vs. the kid.

I have lost track of this show. Is Jr back on the show or is the feud still happening?

Damn near everyone should be back. Jr, Vin, Mikey, cody most likely if vin is there and the old paint scheme guy are all working together at Jr's shop. Not sure who all is left with Sr, Rick and the dorky graphic designer I guess. It should be entertaining to say the least.

So Jr is back working for Sr again? Or are they showing Jr's shop on the show?

No, 2 separate shops. I don't think they even speak to each other.
