Extra is in critical condition after car stunt goes bad...

A 24-year-old female extra was "seriously injured" on the set of Transformers 3 yesterday. The crew was shooting a car stunt in Indiana when something went wrong.

The scene was a driving scene, and an object pierced the windshield and struck the driver.

An extra who witnessed the accident said, "The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle ... the cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently. "

Police revealed, "The equipment pertaining to the stunt was impounded by the Indiana State Police."

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.
