I watched this last night.

What were they thinking?

It was almost like they wanted to make an example of everything you can do wrong with a movie.

It had nothing to do with the first two. It had one of the most irritating songs ever in a movie played constantly. It has magic rocks. It had aliens, or robots, or robot aliens. It's called "Season of the Witch" but there wasn't a single witch in it.

Bad. Bad. Bad. I don't know if it was bad enough to be funny bad but it was definitely really bad.

My favorite part was the "graphics" in the opening credits.

This movie has always sucked. Had you never seen it before?

I loved this one. It was weird as all hell. That damn commercial jingle can get stuck in your head for days though.

If I did I don't remember it.

Our brains have great coping mechanisms for blocking out memories that are too difficult to deal with.

B.Rick. come on this was a great movie (considering its an cheesy 80's horror flick) if you put aside the "Halloween" aspect. And don't tell me you didn't love the death scene with the kid?

It could have been, and it did have good spots.

However:
Stonehenge
Goo coming out of robots
The very last scene which was a "cliffhanger" of suck.

Is it the classic Halloween piano theme from the first two?

That shit rocks!

no, not even close. Its a horrible jingle that was made on a crappy 80's computer.

No, I like that one a lot. I don't believe that one was in it at all(besides on a television that actually was a clip of the real Halloween movie).

This was a song to the tune of "London Bridge is falling down" but said "Eight more days to halloween". The days counted down in it too.

If I remember correctly, this film was supposed to be some sort of "FU" to somebody. I don't recall all of the details, but maybe W_Z or some other horror movie aficionado could probably tell it better...

i don't think it was meant to be an FU to anyone, but it wasn't meant to be a part of "halloween" as a michael meyers franchise.

"halloween" was originally envisioned to be an anthology concept like "the twilight zone"; carpenter wanted to do different stories instead of just bringing michael back. so H3 was an attempt to do so.

tommy lee wallace directed it (he also did "It" and "fright night 2").

BRick's criticisms make me think that he's not too familiar with horror film history. it's been known for a long time that H3 had nothing to do with michael meyers. it was meant to break off and do something different. the title was an homage to george romero, and not meant to be part of the film. i like to make fun of that aspect of it, though.

i liked the movie for being somewhat of a satire of consumerism and just being ultimately weird. but like i said in the TV thread, the story just gets stretched too thin. it is sort of an "invasion of the body snatchers" story but its characters aren't really developed enough to carry the story, which is really bizarre. in some cases, it's like "troll 2" (the stonehenge thing).

the logic in the plot is ridiculous though, especially when they think they can synchronize this thing all across 4 time zones...if it's 9:00pm on the east coast, it'll be 6:00pm in california. so are those kids gonna have to wait for "60 Minutes"?

i thought the ending was great, personally.

One of the best parts of the film. If you're really impatient, skip to the 1:00 mark, otherwise check the whole thing out...

Eh, at least there were some boobs shots in it. But what kind of mega corporation would think that killing all of your customers and having grasshoppers pour out of their eyes to be a good business strategy for growing market share?
