A bit cliche, but what would you expect from the guy who brought you MIRACLE?

Between this flick and UFC on Fox, maybe MMA will become more popular than other cult sports, like hockey.

I saw this film on Sunday when it had limited sneak preview showings. Surprisingly pretty good. Nick Nolte basically plays himself, but steals the show. You know what the final climax is going to be, but execution is solid. Very well acted by Edgerton and Hardy. Has pretty great word of mouth going for it right now. I do have to say that the trailer is misleading. This is not an MMA movie, nor a fight movie. It's much more of a family drama-about the relationships of the brothers and their father. However, the fight choreography is very real. The stuff that Hardy does is pretty awesome (love the knockout and walk-out of the ring stuff).

My only gripe? Kurt Angle plays "Koba", the indestructible Russian fighter (obviously mirroring Fedor). At least he doesn't speak.

I saw about two dozen people in tears after this movie (mostly dudes).

I would like to catch this one but there are some good ones coming out: Killer Elite,Driver. This looks like it will be on HBO in a few months. I just saw "The Fighter" for the 1st time. I didn't "feel" that movie and was shocked at all the Oscar attention it got. A bunch of actors doing "White Trash" America,big deal.
