Since I doubt many of us called in to MJH today while they were discussing this topic, I thought I'd borrow their idea for a new thread.

The basic premise is....what actors, in your opinion, are born to play the asshole role in movies. Mac came up with this while in mourning for Paul Gleason, who passed on over the weekend.

Gleason was known for playing the jerkoff in many 80s movies, some of his better known characters are Richard "Dick" Vernon, the principal in The Breakfast Club; and Clarence Beeks, the inside man working for the commodity trading Duke brothers in Trading Places.

Here are my two contributes:

James Caan
From playing the hotheaded and bullet riddled Sonny Corleone to the cold and distant father in Elf, to the gambling villian in Honeymoon in Vegas, Caan knows how to be a prick on screen.

Frank Vincent
Don't recognize the name? If you're a fan of mafia films, you know this guy. I'll sum Frank Vincent up in his most famous movie quote, "Now go and get your fucking shinebox." Vincent played Billy Batts in GoodFellas and can currently be seen as Johnny Sack's top guy, Phil Leotardo in the Sopranos. For christ sake, his character rammed a pool cue up Vito Spattafore's cornhole while beating him to death. If that doesn't qualify as an all time movie asshole, I don't know what does.

It has to be Ted Knight, is there any bigger a-hole than Judge Smails. Smails is such a jerk in the movie and it is very funny. Ted Knight plays a huge ass hole.

Harvey Korman was great in Blazing Saddles. He played a comedic asswipe but well played none the less.

Vince Vaughan plays a likable asshole. He always starts shit that his friends have to finish. He is also that guy who is funny to hang out with for a day but annoying beyond that time.

One of my favorite weasely/asshole actors is a guy named David Patrick Kelly. He was Luther, the guy who shot Cyrus, in The Warriors. "Warriors, come out and playeeay!" He played another Luther in 48 hours. I love when Eddie Murphy nails him with the car door, "Oh Luther, did that hurt?" And recently, he played Unger, the guy who kills Caretaker in The Longest Yard remake. If you want a creepy, little villian in your movie, he's your man.

Back in the '80's, there was no bigger asshole in movies than William Zabka. He was Daniel-san's tormentor in The Karate Kid, the obnoxious diving team jack-off in Back To School, and also played an asshole in Just One Of The Guys. He had a face like AJ's, that you just wanted to punch.

Norm MacDonald and the other guy who play Billy Madison's friends. I love how that other guy keeps spraying that kid with the hose at one of the graduation parties.

James Spader has always been great at playing the smarmy, arrogant asshole.

Keifer Sutherland always played a good asshole long before his days on 24. His roles in the Lost Boys, Stand By Me, and A Time To Kill prove his talent for playing a complete tool.

Jenna Jameson showed a great asshole in a movie I watched last night.

Worst asshole: Bella Donna- if god had intended the rectum to be penetrated with a baseball bat he would never have given us batting gloves.

Micheal Bein-

Johnny Ringo from TOMBSTONE

I'm no religous man but when he shot that Priest at the beginning I cringed.

Awesome movie, that's in my top 10. The fact that Val Kilmer didn't get an Oscar nomination for that performance is a travesty.
