This is a new tv series that serves as an extension of the original Grisham book/movie that is more than 20 years old. They pick up from after Mitch is out of the witness protection program. He is now a criminal defense attorney in DC working with his brother and his girlfriend. It plays a bit like any other lawyer show that is on right now with a conspiracy undertone that someone from his previous life is still out to get him. They will really need to hash out the conspiracy better if they want this thing to last more than a season, as the law part is done better on other shows.

I was told the lead (josh lucas) is hot while at the same time the female leads are just kind of average which indicates to me they are targeting a more female demographic. Still, I liked it and I will watch again.

It's NBC, so I'm pretty sure it'll be cancelled next month.

I have to imagine they had to cough up some good money for a known entity like The Firm and have Grisham help to produce. I assume Lucas is making some good coin off of it as well. If Whitney can last a season, this one has to be good for 2.

I missed last night and got over it immediately. The pilot was OK at best and yes, his wife's face is pretty fucking hideous.

Have to agree with GD's assessment of the target market and the tie in to conspiracy angles. The wife played a great role in Deadwood. Not too easy on the eyes, but a decent actor.
