Can't disagree with most of the lists. One movie I liked as a kid that came out in that time frame
was Cloak and Dagger. Not sure if anyone else caught that one.

Saw it and liked it, but it doesn't translate for adults. Really just a movie for young males.

Yup I was around 9 or so when I saw it so I would have to agree with your assessment. I probably
wouldn't sit through 20 minutes of it now, but I could be wrong. I haven't matured much since that
time.

Moonstruck....that's the only movie I cared for in the entire decade.

well...favorite vs. great are two different things. there are plenty of great movies in the 80's:

"raging bull"
"king of comedy"
"terms of endearment"
"blue velvet"
"sophie's choice"
"driving miss daisy" (!!)
"crimes and misdemeanors"
"glory"
"the accidental tourist"
"children of a lesser god"
"bull durham"
"parenthood"
"my left foot"

just to name a few...oh, and as phil mentioned, "moonstruck". great movie.
