Mentioned it in another thread, but it's up on Netflix instant queue now...

...something strange I never noticed until going through the seasons last night...Season 5 ended with the class graduating...then Season 6 was when Kelly and Jessie were gone and Tori joined the cast...and they were still in high school.

Am I the only person who missed this when the show originally aired?

I'm sure there's something on wikipedia about it, but I don't have time to research it.....if I recall, they started the new season with the Tori chick, and then Kelly and Jesse were brought back by popular demand for the graduation, and Tori was written out of the show with no mention.

According to Wikipedia...

Quote:
In the show's final season, NBC doubled the number of episodes ordered, despite the fact that they would have to re-sign the entire cast to new contracts in order to film them. Thiessen and Berkley refused to sign a new contract for these new episodes, resulting in a block of episodes that feature a new character, Tori Scott (Leanna Creel) in their place.

The final episode of the series aired in prime time on May 22, 1993. The episode, in which the cast graduated from high school, was filmed before Thiessen and Berkley left the show. No mention is made as to what happened to Tori Scott. The series finale was followed by a special airing of the Saved by the Bell: The College Years pilot episode, to set up the next phase of the characters' lives.

Huh...the way the episodes are displayed on Netflix, the graduation with the original cast was the end of season 5, with the end of season 6/the series being where they come up with a new school song.

Tori was a terrible character.

Johnny Dakota should have been inked to a full season.

Yeah, I wasn't feeling the "tough biker chick" thing....although I think in later episodes they "softened" her.

I try to forget the Tori episodes like how Kid tries to forget the Gene Ditch episodes of Tom and Jerry.

I guess it wasn't hard for Tori to play a tough biker chick, as she is a lesbian and is married to her "wife" in real life, according to her wikipedia page.

 I'm really hoping that a few of them make appearances on Franklin and Bash when the show resumes this summer. They've all aged gracefully except for Lisa.

Sam, you're right. That's why I'm going to get yelled at. Gotta go.

Yeah....Lisa, um.....yeah. I had such high hopes for her. I thought she had the best prospects moving forward.

She lost that game. :(

Her wikipedia page lists her last film as being in "pre-production" for a release date of 2010.

This makes no sense...I'm assuming Season 1 was junior high with Seasons 2-5 being high school, but one of the last episodes in season 2 has them having their first day of high school and Zack meeting SLater for the first time...

...with many of the episodes before having Slater in them. :?

My whole world has been rocked.

I think you are drunk and watching them out of order.

I wish...

...just read wikipedia...apparently that was supposed to be a flashback episode.

Picking out the next episode to watch, and I picked the one where "Zack deals with the death of a friend."

When the fuck did that happen?

Shit, I downloaded the whole series for nothign last week! Although, i got Good Morning Miss Bliss and the College Years as a bonus.

The Tori episodes were great. Had the drinking/Toga episode. Also, Zac's 3rd Dad makes a cameo looking like Kris Kristofferson.

Two things...Even though NBC aired "Bell" from 1989 to 1992, the Saturday morning sitcom actually got started on Disney Channel, circa 1988. That explains how you got a much younger "Zack", "Lisa" & "Screech", not to mention actress Hayley Mills as "Miss Bliss".

As far as "Saved by the Bell: The College Years", that was a short-lived attempt by NBC to follow the kids from graduation at fictional Bayside High to college. Only 19 episodes of that prime time sitcom were ever made, and ran from September 1993 to February 1994.

Netflix is wrong.

While filmed first, the graduation was not aired until after the "Tori season" (which like Caddyshack 2 and Rocky V, never happened)

I know an insane amount about this show. Like CGS level. My girlfriend and her sister invented a SBTB trivia game when they were kids. We found the cards and I completely obliterated him.

Johnny Dakota is cool, but he is not near as cool as the guy who hands him the joint.

Stacy was an awful character too.

The only character that could have lasted was Eric.

He could have been a great rival for Zack.

The Principal of Valley is awesome

Stacy wasn't that bad. Actress Leah Remini, who had a recurring role on the summer vacation episodes of "Bell" when the Bayside kids got summer jobs at a Palm Springs resort, ended up co-starring with Kevin James on "The King of Queens" from 1998-2007.

Yep, very true. The graduation episode did not appear until 1993. I know, because I grauduated 8th grade the same year.

And RPB, did you remember that NBC made such a big deal about the graduation episode that it was shown in primetime instead of a Saturday morning?
