If you haven't already seen 24, then yes, do that...

Recently discovered that Thor and Transformers 3 were added to instant streaming...that made for a nice afternoon...

If it's still available, I would also recommend Harry Brown...Michael Caine being an old badass...

Sherlock is excellent.

Starting up on Agatha Christie's Poirot.

Netflix is loaded with episodes of MST3K. Still one of the funniest shows ever IMO.

I'll second the 24 recommendation. I've been watching it all summer and am in to season 5. It's ludicrous, delusional, and preposterous but it is great entertainment and hilarious to watch.

I too decided to watch 24. It won awards and shit. I could not believe how bad it was. The hot daughter got kidnapped 3 or 4 times in season one. Thats in ONE FUCKING 24 hour stretch. Keifer S. over acted. I started season 2 for shits and giggles but never made it past the first episode. I guess it could be considered fun bad but some had it in all time best lists. I guess I just didnt get it.

Damages is a great show on Netflix. If you can get passed your feelings for Glenn Close you will enjoy her and that show. Most people hate her. Rose Byrne is a knockout. Not sure if its still there but Rescue Me was pretty good and I usually cant stand Dennis Leary. Usually pretty good documentaries too.

Conan the Barbarian from last year is on there. It's just insanely gory and action packed, stars Jason Mamoa, whom you may remember as Khal Drogo.

Watching Archer and the League for the first time. I'm really digging both of these shows.

I'm boycotting Netflix until Spectreman is available.

Used to watch it before school. One day my brother and I were apparently dragging our asses as it was getting late to get to school; I believe ma inquired what we were doing, and my brother (who enjoyed it more than I) said something to the effect of "we're watching the end of Voltron".

My mother's response: "Shit on Voltron!"

This was from a time long ago when swearing was not just naughty but borderline taboo. Still referenced to this day because of the contextual profundity.

The reason I bring it up: so that you can understand on another level the otherwise mundane phrase I elect to state right now: "Shit on Voltron".

Reason? Gatchaman beats the ever-lovin' piss out of that show. But is it on NetFlix? Nooooooooooo, because it's almost like a unicorn sighting to come across DVDs with decent translations of the original (and not the 7-Zark-7 silliness).

I really liked it, way closer to the books than the other movies.

Both Life on Mars,USA and British

Had been watching Emergency. I used to watch that show all the time when I was a kid. I think because my dad wax a fireman. I loved that show. Now, I am watching Sports Night. I guess since I have been watching "The News Room" that spurred me onto wanting to watch that show again.

I just wish "The West Wing" was on Netflix.

That's strange, I figured your republican ass would hate that show, ala Dr. Ken... I'm fortunate enough to own the first 6 seasons... I'm reluctant to buy the seventh.

Why?

Buy season 7. It's great. The Santos campaign stuff is better than the White House stuff.

I remember touting the show's greatness earlier this year, and you responded: "hardly"... or something to that effect.

I enjoyed every season, I just haven't found the motivation to buy it, that and the prospect of seeing the live debate show scares me.
