If you're a fan of the action series "24", you might be interested in the following story. DIRECTV's Audience Network, which can be found on Channel 239, has become a channel synonymous for cutting edge dramas, concerts, as well as documentaries & sports talk shows as "The Dan Patrick Show" & "The Nick & Artie Show" with Nick DiPaolo & former "Howard Stern Show" regular Artie Lange. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Audience Network will soon become the new home of Jack Bauer, too.
DIRECTV's Audience Network has acquired all 8 seasons, or "days" of the critically-acclaimed Kiefer Sutherland action series which also starred Elisha Cuthbert, Mary-Lynn Rajskub & Dennis Haysbert that aired on FOX from 2001-10. The show, which featured Sutherland's character Jack Bauer racing against time to fight global threats of terrorism, nuclear, biological & chemical attacks, as well as presidential assassination attempts, was filmed in a real-time method of narration covering 24 hours in Bauer's life. It won the 2003 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Series, and also took home a 2006 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. "24" left the FOX schedule in May, 2010 due in large part to high production costs.
While syndicated reruns of "24" previously aired on WGN America, DIRECTV 307, as well as CBS2 Saturday & Sunday nights shortly after the clock ran out on production in 2010, DIRECTV's Audience Network will start airing the action series in HD and commercial free starting Monday, January 7th @ 7P, and will air Mondays-Thursdays after that.
