Nobody saw this? For a movie that's made so much money over the past weekend, there's little chatter going on of it.

It was pretty good, but I think Peter Jackson kind of half-assed it (like I did this review).

:D :D :D

I don't need to watch more bullshit about midgets walking around the forest.

Keep it.

The book sucked, too.

I saw it but I won't have an opinion until I read what W_Z has to say.

I checked his site, & he hasn't reviewed it. The Saints must be taking a toll on him.

One thing I noticed was how all the villains looked alike. Trolls, Goblins, the Orcs. A little lazy on that part. Visually, it was nice, but I get the feeling that Jackson really didn't have his heart in this one.

The movie had a nice pace, even if it took an hour before any real action happened. W/ these movies the 2nd & 3rd are always better.

I agree the Hobbit is the weakest of the 5 books.
The best one they can not make into a movie.

The Lord of the Rings books sucked too.

There's a 5th book? Christ, the best thing that can happen is that it never gets made into a movie.

The Silmarillion. It is basically a history of the gods and powers of Middle Earth.Creation of the universe. Fall of Sauron, big wars make the battles in the LotR look like slap fights.

It can be used for good or evil. You are a nerd as well just a different kind. I do not understand nor want to your nerdness. It is like fans of Star Wars and Star Trek, both sides do no like each other, yet they both are nerds. I am one of the few that like both.

Saw this yesterday...in HFR 3D, to boot!

I'd lobby that all films should be shot in 48 frames per second...I found it very nice indeed...it lends itself really well to live action stuff...the only times I didn't care for it was when the action on screen got particularly CG heavy and you could see something was amiss...

...as for the actual film, it was pretty good...not as good as the original trilogy, but still an enjoyable time. The first hour does drag a bit, but once the company gets on their adventure, it's good stuff...

I really hope that the 2nd & 3rd pick it up, as did the first trilogy. I don't need ~45mins of Dwarves crashing a house.

I enjoyed it. The White Council was a highlight and Thorin's backstory also stuck out, but I felt like I was watching the extended edition. The Hobbit is going to feel kind of stretched across the 3 movies, but I'll still see them because I'm a geek.

I was telling my aunt (a big Tolkien fan) about the movie, & she said a lot of the stuff wasn't even in the book, but it was stuff from the other trilogy or something. She said it would've been better to make 3 movies out of each of the other books & 1 out of this one. To me, 10 movies would've seemed like a lot.

I'm the same way.

I was left at the end wondering, if you can summon giant falcons to carry you at any time, why would you waste all that time going through forests and mountains to get to your destination.

Went and saw this last night,I was glad I only spent $5 on this. Not a strong movie at all,I was constantly going"Was that shit even in the book?" Well,I was right,Jackson added a ton of stuff that was not in the book, just to make 3 moves to get as much money as he can from us lame ass dicks who will shill out t watch a freaking 3 hour travelogue on New Zealand. That first 20 min was the most useless piece of film ever. About the only good things I could say about the movie that is positive is:
Found out on Feb 19they are showing Top Gun in IMAX 3D,$1 hotdogs. I mean even the trailers sucked.
I rate this movie as only slightly above Phantom menace and little bit lower than a knee to the groin
