Is there anyone here who doesn't like or appreciate Arrested Development? Am I the only one who doesn't care for the show? Shark, you don't love this show do you?

SHARK is ALWAYS capitalized, Mini.

As far as Arrested Development, I'm with ya. But that goes with all sitcoms on tv, for me. Whoever the biggest star is on that show could be standing right next to me and I'd be completely oblivious to it.

I can't believe you don't know David Cross!

As for me, I've never seen the show, so I won't judge it. IDK if I ever even seen a clip of it.

I think I've seen a little here & there, but not enough for a judgement. One day I'll probably watch it.

I'm anti. I tried watching a few episodes. I get why people think it's funny. There are many people who think crackers doing quirky, odd, wacky shit is amusing. It got canceled for a reason. It's not good. The rabid fans defend the show stating the typical viewer just didn't get it. It was so smart! And it had layered, nuanced writing. Fuck off and die. Same dipshits who think Freaks and Geeks was great.

Since you and I could easily be brothers, I'm comfortable making the safe assumption that you would love it.

Its not that its smart its more that a lot of it is subtle. Its not a matter of intelligence

There you go, I don't hate anybody. Play fair. Now...I don't have to love everybody. But...these people, you know, they, they don't want to seem to be a part of anything.

So is 2-1/2 Men.

I think According to Jim lasted ~7 seasons.

Lots of bad lasts a long time.

Two and a Half Men was the no. 1 comedy on TV when Charlie Sheen was on it. Granted they probably should have canceled it after Sheen left, but it was too much of a moneymaker to dump.

Let's not forget 2 Broke Girls.

You could say that about any sitcom, other than Modern Family.

The show is good most of the time, and great at other times, but the hype for it is pretty undeserved. I don't know why this show became the champion of "I liked this show, and it got cancelled after 3 seasons of failing to deliver enough interest, but it's so unfair because I liked it!". Plenty of good shows get cancelled because for whatever reason it's not good enough to get people to watch it or it just doesn't connect with the right audiences.

Audiences seem to love formulaic crime dramas that make you think like you are thinking while being spoon fed clues at predetermined times during the show. "Oh, I think the killer MAY be that guy!". Then, either within the next 5 minutes you get evidence that clears them or proves your suspicion and you are either happy that you were so smart that you figured out the scripted show storyline like you are a couch potato version of Sherlock Holmes or you are so surprised that the ex-wife was actually the killer rather than the disgruntled business partner, and to take it a step further, the ex-wife FRAMED the business partner. Sorry to sini my post.

Anyways, hopefully this is the end of the championing of Arrested Development and it can return to it's rightful place of just being another show that probably deserved to last longer but didn't perform well enough to do so.

Anti-Law and Order.

However, Law and Order isn't really my target there. It's more about the other 500 crime shows out there. Law and Order pretty much invented the genre right? They can stay. Sorry Criminal Minds and NCIS, you got to go.

I enjoy being spoonfed clues and being a Sherlock holmes on the couch.

Law and Order is pretty good at putting so many twists in it, you're at least surprised by some of it.

It's ok. I like bad television too. Law and Order is better than a lot of the stuff I watch.

Well, I don't think the CBS sitcom shower of shit is amusing. But some stupid fucks do. And that's why they stay on the air. So they must be good in that they are turning a profit for the network. You can't pay Charlie Sheen millions per episode if he is on an unsuccessful sitcom. AD failed to do that for Fox. There's nothing subtle about AD. That's my point. It's not nuanced and layered. Everything is right there for you to see. And I'm not laughing. I'm sitting and staring and maybe jacking off to Portia de Rossi.

That's just flat out false. No other way of saying it.

Your hung up on the term nuanced and layered. There is subtle comedy in it.

Trust me, I understand disdain for that kind of hyping. But with AD, there is subtle humor. Especially compared to hit you over the head with the joke type sitcoms like 2 1/2 men etc.

Im not saying its high brow or intellectual but it is certainly subtle.
