Don't know how many on here have seen the show but it's basically about a guy (George Motz) travelling the country looking for the best cheese burgers in each state. The latest episode was Illinois.
I like the Host because he seems like a normal guy and doesn't wear his sunglasses on the back of his head.

Chicago episode:

Chicago is not a burger town. LA is a burger town. WI does a nice greasy burger too.

I think Chicago is improving in the area of burgers, but Illinois doesn't approach Wisconsin's level.

Check out this thread on lthforum.com: http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=27796. It does a fantastic job of outlining the burger utopia that lies beyond the cheddar curtain.

Good, but hipstery.

I've heard they have a second location now that is not as small or crowded as the original place, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Bad Apple @ Lincoln/Cullom should not be missed by burger aficionados. Great burgers, nice tap selection, outstanding deep-fried cheese curds.

I've been on a bit of a restricted diet for the past 2 months, continuing on for another 5 weeks or so, and posts from Da Beef are enough to make we want to slit my wrists. Damn you, TM.

Sorry about the dietary issues, Dr. Ken. I hope everything is going to be OK.

Yeah, that Burgers of Wisconsin thread by Da Beef is pretty ridiculous. The guy can sniff out awesome food like few others. He's probably my favorite poster on lth.

No worries. It's allowed me to lose a lot of that unnecessary fat as well as a bunch of that unnecessary muscle.

But, the restrictions will come off and then I'm going to go on a marathon eating spree of Da Beef recommendations so prodigious that I will no doubt cover the state in vomit. I can't wait.
