Spader is out of LF but great choice. His acting (along with Shatner) made for great TV on Boston Legal.
His new NBC show (The Black List) looks good, too.

I'm old enough to remember James Spader as the rich, preppy, arrogant asshole of every teenage movie. He was great in that role much the same way William Zabka was the perfect as the cruel teen in every movie at that time.

I'm so pumped they are doing Civil War. I remember you mentioning that before. As if the Cap3 rumors weren't enough, this is definitely starting to set the tone for it. They would still need to bring in a lot more superheroes, that's for sure. And all the subtle hints at Thor becoming "unworthy" would make him absent, like he was in the books (short of his clone, of course).

I hope this is true, BTW. Edris Alba is perfect for this role:

Because it was explicitly mentioned 'no civil war' storyline.

I saw someone theorize that it would be a civil war storyline, just not based on mutant registration ... perhaps instead on ideological differences (Stark thinking there's no place for superheroes because they just make things worse, Cap thinking otherwise because, unlike pretty much all the others, his existence hasn't hurt anyone to speak of, only helped society at large).

Which still isn't civil war because it wasn't the story so much as the commentary behind it.

Regarding this movie, someone posted a stillshot of Hulk right before he attacks IM and it looks like he might have been crying or at least shed a tear ... could be anything, could be nothing.

Ahhh, that could work. And then you can safely ignore a lot of the other characters.

Just from this trailer (and the end of IM3) you can tell Stark is trending that way anyway. Looking forward to that.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. None of the Avengers are interesting superheroes. I'm constantly baffled that it has become such a media sensation. I saw Iron Man and it was meh. No reason to watch even more meh movies about even lamer superheroes.

I've never read a comic book, but I think part of it is that we no longer have to watch more rehashes of Superman/Batman/Spiderman.

I've loved pretty much all the movies they've done so far but I haven't seen the Guardians movie yet.

I suppose that is a good point. I've just always been partial to the X-Men characters and Justice League.

I really like the X-Men movies too. I would put them on the same level.

I first saw the trailer half awake around 2:30 this morning on my phone and thought "yeah, that's pretty good"...

...then I watched it on my TV, could fully understand what Ultron was saying, and could hear the motherfucking Pinnochio music playing in the background and could only react with a slow clap. Hype machine in full force.

Please don't suck, please don't suck, please don't suck...

THis is looking good. Plus we get the Vision. They can not do the Civil War proper without Spidey. As much as I hate the Emo Fuck his story was the central part of the story arc.

Hank, the reason you might not find the individual parts of the Avengers interesting is that they are created to be flawed human beings.
They all have their own faults and short coming. Even the Xmen(in the comics not the movies). The DC Heroes are basically at God level power. It is why the Justice League was created so long down the road in the DC universe. It also shows in what kind of villains both organisations take on. When the Avengers take on a world killer they have to call in everyone, when in DC verse they call out Supes and a few others.

Maybe Dr Strange. That casting is getting interesting.
On other Super Hero News they are defiantly rebooting Green Lantern,Thank God.

Are they defiantly rebooting it or definitely rebooting it?

Because defiantly doing so sounds interesting. Screw you DC! We're making this movie whether you like it or not!

DC fucked everything up. They kept releasing shitty movies (Except Batman) of heroes that people actually like. Meanwhile Marvel/Disney was lightyears ahead of them, putting together the Avengers universe with a bunch of heroes that no one really was clamoring for. Now the Avengers is a box office gold mine and DC is going to try to kick start JL stuff but they are so far behind no one cares anymore.

Marvel fucked everything up for awhile too.

The first Spiderman films
First 3 X-Men movies
Daredevil
Punisher
Ghost Rider

Right but that was 15 years ago. DC is right where Marvel was around the first Iron Man movie, with the release of Batman v Superman. I dont know if the viewing public has another 10 years of superhero worship in them. Eventually the tide has to change to regular action movies again right?

Spiderman 1+2 were good and were the first 2 X-Men films. Not perfect but far from "fuck ups"

I liked X-Men 2, but I wasn't really a fan of the first one. I thought all the Tobey Maguire Spiderman films were terrible.

I'm not sure it's possible to have found any more plausible yet completely unlikable jackoffs than Maguire and Dunst ... which was already my thoughts but then last weekend I caught the latter half of the 'newer' Spiderman and, holy cock farms, that only showed what glaring abortions those films were in an even starker contrast.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Avengers roster will be changed by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The confirmation came in a statement where Feige was equating the Avengers films to Marvel crossover event comics.

“The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins,” says Feige. “It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film.”

This lines up with rumors that have suggested a new team of Avengers will be revealed in the film’s post-credits scene, possibly a splinter team aligned with Captain America ahead of the upcoming Civil War.

Of course, the addition of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch to the team by the movie's end would constitute an "altering" of the team's lineup, but it seems like he's hinting at something more than simple expansion.

It wasnt terrible. I went in to both of them expecting bad and I wound up thinking they were good. I wouldnt watch them again but I dont feel like I wasted 2 hrs either.
