Entertaining flick. Thought Chris Pine was good as Jack Ryan. Not a great movie, but worth the price of admission.

How would you rate him as Ryan? I mean, based on the bolded statement, he's better than Affleck by default...but how does he stack up against Baldwin and Ford?

I think I would go:

Ford
Pine
Baldwin


That said, this movie was not as good as the movies starring Ford and Baldwin.

I realize they likely moved away from him as he is a complete tool and probably a PITA but I thought Baldwin was a great Ryan and should have made all the Ford ones. And I like Ford.

Nah, they didn't go that way with him at all. This was more of a Bourne-type action movie, though. So a bit different than the other ones.

I liked Baldwin as Ryan. However, I don't buy him as an action star. He worked well in Red October because it was more of a thinking thriller than an action thriller. Ford and Pine are better action stars.
