Love the 2 hour breakdown of that movie. Just shows you 2 of the best movies EVER, came out of a state of confusion, drugs, drinks, etc. basically filming a party directed by guys that just knew "funny" and didnt know anything else of where to set up cameras, how to film, how to even yell ACTION.

Dangerfield had never done a film, Ramis never directed, everyone was drink and stoned because they all stayed at a hotel across the street, so everyone was there all the time.

Original script, NO LINES FOR CARL SPACKLER.

Gunga La Gunga script done in first few minutes of Murray showing up on set, all off the top of his head. Actually everything Murray did in that movie was his own stuff.

"I was born to love you......I was born to suck your face" Scene filmed, not even known to Cindy Morgan

I always watch it when it's on. Judge Smails is my favorite and it takes a little away from the movie knowing how he felt.

It really isn't a "good" movie. It is a collection of funny quotable scenes. Still one of my favorites.

The guy who did the first edit, said after he cut out a ton of stuff, he had a 4.5 hour movie.

They need to release the cutting room floor stuff!

The coolest thing is that Ramis ran the cameras on guys when they didnt know it, like the "18th hole at Augusta..." was the minimal camera crew and Murray just making stuff up for 30 minutes....

The Gopher was added later. "That Kangaroo stole my ball!"

Being that I attended Indian Hill Country Club(Basis of the pool scene) and worked at Westmoreland Country Club (Basis of the movie) as a caddy, the whole movie just hits home.

I agree 100%. Put out whatever still exists.

I also watched this last night, and it was a cool little bio. Ted Knight should have just taken the film for what it was-- a giant party that was essentially being filmed. He probably would have felt a lot better about the whole thing.

Saw this a couple of times - good stuff.
Ramis notes that Dangerfield thought he was bombing because nobody was laughing at his jokes.
Ramis had to explain to Rodney that this was a movie and the other actors were not suppose to laugh when he told a joke.
